Thinking about getting a Galaga one from Walmart. I'd go cheap and get a countercade. What about you? Do you own any arcade machines?

Nope and on my mind:
Edit: I guess the closes thing to an Arcade is my gaming PC as it can play arcade games without the arcade machine.
No. With how I bounce from game to game so frequently, I can't imagine having a single game taking up that kind of real estate where I live. Maybe if I was super wealthy and had like a large house with room I could have a dedicated game room, but nah...I'm good.
At my old job though there was a company that built arcades from emulators. I'd like to think it was legit but something tells me not so much.
Still, it was pretty great having an arcade machine with a few hundred games on it just sitting there whenever I got a break or bored or some downtime.
Fond memories of that game!

1.The ones I'm thinking of are cheaper.
2. These ones I am referring they are 1/4 the size of the original cabinet, the way I understand it.
3. As above. So maybe there is room on your kitchen counter or some other place, also less intrusive.

All of the above, but @mattbbpl: that does look kind of neat.
Wanted the mk 2 one as I have nostalgia for that series but space is the issue. Still might try and make room for one some how.
i've seen people build their own running emulators and build full plywood / mdf cabinets and everything. seems like a really cool project and i've thought about it, just never committed.
One day I'll own an actual full sized, 1980s cabinet. I'm not overly picky when it comes to the game but I'd enjoy Popeye, Punch Out, Paperboy, Congo Bongo, etc..,
@sancho_panzer: Thanks. I was never an arcade buff, so that's the only cabinet I ever played on multiple occasions. We'd play it with my father, sister, and grandfather at the local pizza place back in the day. I must have talked about those days more than I thought, because my wife and son bought it for me last Christmas.
@mattbbpl: Simpsons one is clean, love it, the table top is cool, nostalgia for me, used to have one at the local pizza hut as a kid, used to go there after playing baseball as a kid. It's cool arcade 1 up made this format more accessible. I think a real Simpsons arcade cabinet that works goes for like 6k..

I think 6k is an exaggeration. More like 4k. And that's on the high end.
I don't have any machines. There's too much going on at the moment for me to spare that kind of money. One day, I'd like to have a classic Galaga machine and a few pinball ones.
FWIW, I probably should have shared this earlier. We live a short drive from this place, and it's pretty wild. There are multiple buildings filled with retro arcade and pinball games, and they retain their original pricing.

We've taken our son their a few times, and it's a popular place for parties.
@tjandmia: Which ones?
It's currently one of my fav topics to talk about. There all the 3/4 scale machines. I've got:
Marvel vs Capcom
Frogger
Ms. Pacman / Galago Class of 81.
Centipede.
Legends Pinball
T2
Ridge Racer modified to run Outrun and Crazy Taxi, Mario Kart, and a bunch more.
Legends Mini running Dragon Quest
Star Wars Trilogy.
Whoah, jelly! What tables do you have for the pinball machine? It's a virtual pinball machine, yes?
@DEVILinIRON: It's the ATGames legends virtual pinball. I couldn't pass on it for $350. It's got all the mediocre Gottlieb tables that come with it, plus I bought a bunch of the much better Zaccaria tables. I have the laptop hooked up to it, so I have been playing a lot of Star Trek The Next Generation via visual pinball x. Gets the most play of any machine.
