I love and hate them. On phones they are awesome, but could still use some tactile feedback. I still make mistakes, but I'm getting better with my new phone. I hope it gets to the point where I'm glad I didn't get a keyboard phone; I just wanted to get with the times. :P And for music players, it's gotta be button operated because I don't like holding my music player in my hand. Are you well adapted to this touch screen phenom?
I'll like them when they're all fully multi-touch and linked with a truly intuitive and function gestural UI. Until then, they can serve a purpose (the iPod Nano 6th gen for instance), but often are a waste.
I love touch screens. I prefer them than those little keyboards attached to phones. Of course, there is the random mistake of me hitting the send button for a blank text. :P
It was WOAH cool when I was 10 and got my DS in 2004, now its just meh, they are overused. The new ipod nano is great example of something that absolutely does not need a touch screen.

It would be cool if there was some universal "language" of touch screens where all motions are well known by a majority of the population. I hope we get to that point.
It's good on my iPod, I can type properly and everything but I absolutely hate it on my phone. I always hit the wrong buttons and pocket text people, even when I lock the damn thing.
I'm used to the one on my phone, but it's not something I think about. I guess if I had the choice now I'd prefer the screen to buttons, but I don't get tablets, touch screen computer monitors, or the channel and volume buttons on my tv not being raised (you just hold your finger over them).
i prefer buttons/keys. touchscreens get smothered with fingerprints and i need to feel what i'm doing, also so i can do it without looking if i have to.
