^ This Where I live it's more funny but there are certain scenarios where it is just uncalled for and not exactly funny. As long as everyone in the room respects each other though they don't particularly bother me :) I find some of the things people say about me as well come to be true and that makes me laugh even more xD
All depends how it's done. I always make fun of my race and stuff in front of friends, but there's times where people actually treat you badly because of it. Also the internet is full of fools
Though a white American I grew up as a minority in my local community. However, the white stereotypes that were given to me were all positive. For instance, I remember one occasion a girl gave a long list of reasons why she wanted to marry me. The list included such things as having good credit, being educated, not being on welfare, and having the ability to make pretty babies. I loled.
I should clarify; while I do find racial stereotypes reprehensible in general, I do find myself laughing at many racist jokes. It's only when I hear stereotypes in a serious context that I get upset.
Yes. Stereotypes, even if true, are not productive because they encourage generalizations. I will occasionally find a racist joke funny, but I don't think that's wise to retell the joke after having heard it because that only advances the stereotype further. The best way to eradicate the stereotype is just to ignore it, I think.

I think stereotypes exist for a reason. So there is no point in being offended by it.
People are too touchy about racism and such, but the fact is, we are all different and we need to laugh about thoses differences, not hide them and pretend they dont exist.
