why do people ask this question??? Your still a person outside of playing games....if the girl likes you its because of your personality and all that stuff... what do you people mean by "gamer"?? Is that someone that does nothing else with there time other than play video games?? I wouldnt think anybody would like that....
No, considering most of the ones I know are 'americanized', thus would find it as a turn off or plain just won't care. I wouldn't be so sure about ones living in actual Japan, but they'd probably be the same as well, if not worse.
It's quite obvious that Japanese culture is swimming in Video Games and Anime, but I don't think girls would "choose" a person over another because they gamed or not, but wouldn't avoid gamers like a plague like in America, unless they're otakus.
The ratio would be larger than in North America, though in my experience, no girls like gamers.

QFT. Seriously, go to Japan. Go to a club and try to pick up a girl by bragging about how many achievements you have, or your quickest speed run on RE4. Girls don't like gamers.
Japanese girls LOVE gamers they go omigod omigod look look that cute white boy is a gamer. hehe I have been to Japan all Jokes aside and the youth their are very into gaming, plus they have respect for anyone who can hold their own in any game, now the communication thing is another thing talking is to them is quite hard if you dont know their language but simply smiling and giggling back usually works, Im a girl by the way.
You can't really generalise women, as all women are different. I'm sure there are Japanese girls out there that like gamers but i'm also sure there's some that don't.
