They do realize he does stuff to deliberately antagonize easily offended people and generally joke around. Oh and wasn't Walt Disney a anti semite.
Good for Disney, that dude is an a-hole. He tried to get fellow Youtubers and consumers to boycott Nintendo and it back fired on dat ass. Haters get rektd!
@foxhound_fox: How is it misinformation? He actually used anti-semitic material in his video.
Watch the video I posted. He's a provocateur.
@foxhound_fox: Who cares, he still used anti-semitic material in his video. Thats not misinformation, its the truth. Disney has every right to not support anti-semitic material.
@foxhound_fox: Who cares, he still used anti-semitic material in hs video.
It makes a difference. He's like a modern George Carlin (just not a comedian). He says outrageous things to solicit a reaction. Saying something and meaning something are entirely different.
@foxhound_fox: But how does that make it misinformation? Why would Disney even want to support such silly anti-semitic material?
Puppets who don't dance get their ties cut.
Pewdiepie doesn't really need Disney. I had no idea they were partners to begin with.
Oh, god the irony of Disney cutting ties with someone over Anti semitism. Delicious!! Pewdiepie's wallet? bare.....
Oh and wasn't Walt Disney a anti semite.
Unfounded rumors would agree, also if you are familiar with the history of Disney film there were more than a couple instances of racist showings...in the 1940s.
But to even say, "it's just a joke" is only showing that person doesn't really understand humor...or is attempting to appeal to a very certain audience.
I haven't watched Pewdiepie in a looooong time. I had no idea he was so successful that he had ties with Disney. Wow.

Did he really? What a dick. I need to look that up and see what happened.

Wow really ........... and to be fair who really cares? like or dislike him, he has managed to capture and gain a audience and he will continue to do so without Disney.
@foxhound_fox: But how does that make it misinformation? Why would Disney even want to support such silly anti-semitic material?
It's taking things out of context. You can't take what someone is paraphrasing or quoting out of context and make it seem like they're the ones who said it or condone the sentiments. Even though his videos featured Nazi imagery, that doesn't make him anti-semitic or even his videos anti-semitic.
@iandizion713: Disney had a hitler supporting cartoon starring Donald Duck, and Pewdidpie has plenty of sponsorships elsewhere and could give no fuqs about Disney dropping support. Also, Pewdiepie is a shitposter, so Disney dodn't get his joke

I think iandizon713 is right, you are grasping at straws. Walt Disney had not a single anti semitic bone in his body..........

Does that make Disney any less wrong to cut ties? Disney, as a brand, probably doesn't want a George Carlin under its umbrella. Pewdiepie will be fine on his own, he doesn't need disney and disney doesn't need him.

Doesn't matter if the corporate brand doesn't want associated with it...they have that right.

The old famous "heil hitler, heil hitler, heil hitler" assembly line cartoon.
Well that's unfortunate. It really doesn't matter if Disney "gets the joke" or not it's something that they simply don't want to be associated with at this current point in time so there's really nothing wrong with them wanting to cut ties with him.
@Jacanuk: Funny, Disney said the same thing.
Knew you'd be in this thread, attacking jokes and what not.
They do realize he does stuff to deliberately antagonize easily offended people and generally joke around. Oh and wasn't Walt Disney a anti semite.
Yep. Gave a ton of money to the Third Reich and the American Nazi movement too. Guess they are under new management.

It doesn't really matter what he says or means, Disney has the right to disassociate themselves with anyone for any reason. That goes for anyone.
Oh and wasn't Walt Disney a anti semite.
Do you really think the company today shares his views? If not, it is irrelevant.
Nope, just thought it was funny that's the reason they broke ties with pewds.
Just read what it was that he did and wow it was pretty messed up. Even when taken as a joke it's just a really, really stupid thing to have done. I can totally see why anyone would drop support for him after that. Why Felix? Why?
Disney is not a fan of edgy, ironic anti-Semitic jokes. The current CEO of Disney is Jewish. Make fun of Islam, make fun of white people, make fun of black people, make fun of Mexicans, but don't you dare make fun of God's chosen people. Remember the 6 million.
@resevl4rlz:
Pewdiepie doesn't deserve the popularity anyway. They should've never signed him up with them.
Looks like the SJW's win again.
Ya it definitely couldn't be that in a capitalist society a business would cut ties with someone they thought would hurt them. That would make too much sense right?
Why didn't they cut him sooner then. Instead they waited til a bunch of journalists led an attack on him and not only get him cut from Disney but also taken off of youtube. That is the MO of SJWs say something they don't like and they will try to ruin your reputation and livelihood, they are scum.

Disney was probably not aware of it until people began complaining. If you started saying shit like he did and your employer found out, they would probably cut ties with you too.
@iandizion713: I'm not a fan of PewDiePie's work, but in saying that I don't think he's a bad person, in fact he sounds like quite the opposite. But however, Disney has every right to distance him and PewDiePie doesn't eve need Disney anyway.
They do realize he does stuff to deliberately antagonize easily offended people and generally joke around. Oh and wasn't Walt Disney a anti semite.
Walt Disney has been dead for almost 51 years. He's not germane in the least.
I don't know what this guy is about but thankfully I have never watched his presentations based primarily on the fact that he looks like a goof.
@foxhound_fox: Who cares, he still used anti-semitic material in his video. Thats not misinformation, its the truth. Disney has every right to not support anti-semitic material.
Ah, the classic "Context does not matter" argument. The final go to argument for those backed into a corner who cannot admit they might have been wrong on something.
And just to mention it, im betting someone else has but i have not read all posts.... Walt Disney was an extreme racist and antisemite, he kind of built his company around it and didnt do it comically, he did it seriously.

This has nothing to do with the CEO being Jewish, im sure he is an intelligent person and is not humorless. This is most likely a move suggested by lawyers because of the fake outrage machine that is people like Ian. These people who have to manufacture outrage at every turn and try to make it front page news.
@kod: There is nothing to be wrong about. He was punished for using anti-semitic material. Its called a fact. Disney made fun of Nazi's mate.
