Why?

People would just take their business elsewhere as bad

Eh not really, they're not exactly the best company out there, most likely. But I think there's a good number of companies far higher than McDonald's on my list of companies that completely deserve to go bankrupt, and burn in hell. (And also that they should have went bankrupt a long time ago.)

Nope...they're convenient and U like their sundaes. Sometimes I get sick of them so I don't go there for a few months. No reason to wish them to go out of business just because you don't like them.

All fast food is generally disappointing. Every time I get some I end regretting it. You can almost always make something better at home in less time and for less money.

Besides, Burger King is far more repulsive than McDonalds.

Most definitely not, although I rarely eat fast food, once in a blue moon I get a huge craving for a McDonalds burger and chicken McNuggets and I would hate to lose the ability to satisfy that craving

I have not eaten McDonalds in a long time now. Everyone else in my area would benefit by them being long gone so I'd be psyched to never touch their rubberized 'nuggets again.

Don't wish either way, let the free market work. And apparently it is already taking care of McDonald's.

McDonald’s Sales Slump: What Turnaround?

McDonald's has supersized problems

McDonald's is in even worse shape than we realized.

Profits are crumbling, sales are shrinking and guest traffic is declining all around the world.

Consumers are defecting for healthier and fresher options like Chipotle (CMG), the burrito chain that McDonald's (MCD) sold off almost a decade ago.

The world's largest burger chain announced more depressing results on Wednesday for the first three months of 2015.

The company vows a turnaround plan is coming. It will reveal the "initial details" on May 4. In a preview of what might be coming, McDonald's just announced that it's closing 350 struggling restaurants, mostly in Japan, the U.S. and China.

Just how bad is it at McDonald's? First-quarter profits stumbled by nearly $400 million, or roughly a third. That's a steeper pace of profit declines than all of last year.

Related: Sign of the times: Hillary goes to Chipotle, not McDonald's

No wonder McDonald's changed its CEO in late January. As if the burger chain didn't have enough to deal with, it's getting hit by the strong U.S. dollar. All those foreign restaurants aren't helping the bottom line since the company is taking a hit on currency exchange.

The good news for McDonald's is that investor expectations are low at this point. The stock is actually jumping over 2% Wednesday as investors are hopeful that new CEO Steve Easterbrook gets it and will bring a strong plan. They are also happy that total sales didn't fall by more than feared.

Related: Chipotle prices are going up

Keep in mind the stock is roughly flat in the past year, compared with a 12% gain for the S&P 500 and a 27% surge for Chipotle.

So far, Easterbrook is working to improve McDonald's tarnished brand by focusing on customer service and food quality. The company recently announced a pay hike for restaurant workers and plans to cut back on chicken raised on antibiotics.

McDonald's is now testing all-day sales of breakfast items, selling sirloin burgers and perhaps even kale eventually, at least according to one analyst.

It's also cutting back on restaurants that aren't adding to the company's profits. The 350 store closures announced on Wednesday are in addition to the 350 the company had already planned on shuttering this year.

But don't expect the negative trends to change just yet. McDonald's warned that its global sales are likely to fall in April as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They are trying to adapt. And they will either do or die.

@Master_Live: Interesting. It still seems to be going strong here...they're opening McD's everywhere...you could probably go take a dump in the woods and crap on a McD...

I'll be lucky to have any McDonalds in my area with the minimum wages being gradually raised to $15/hr over the next couple years - apparently they already struggle to pay their workers minimum wage.

Not really. I don't find them appetizing and I have only gone once so far this year, but no I don't really hold any grudges against them. That being said I wouldn't exactly lament their loss either.

Why would anyone want them to go out of business? If you don't like it, don't eat there. Why would anyone want so many people to lose their jobs just over a dislike of McDonald's food?

Just cause you personally don't like something, doesn't mean they should go out of business.

I don't like some food places, but I don't wish closure upon them.

I don't like McDonalds and never eat there, but wishing they'd disappear doesn't make sense since another fast food company with equally shit food would take it's place.

No. But, I sometimes wished McDonald's stayed in the US only. It's kinda irritating to visit other countries and one of the first icons I see is the familiar double arch. Turkey, Japan, Philippines........you name it. The wife and kids love it though. They're not the adventurous kind when it comes to food.

That's true. But, when you already spent 8-12 hours at work, fought traffic and hot weather, cleaning the house, doing laundry, cooking dinner, and then wash the dishes/pots n pans afterwards, sometimes it's better to just buy fast food.

I agree(although I want to use the word "easier"), but my choice of fast food wouldn't be a burger from a fast food joint if I am already home. That would be a pizza.

No ! Why ? There so convenient. I would have to run around town trying to get to other places ? Makes no sense. If you would have said all fast food places, then most definitely YES> ! Because then that would mean we would have to eat real made food. Thats a whole different scenario. Can you imagine the lines ..
