[QUOTE="blackngold29"]I'm amazed that there are people who watch movies, who still have no idea about that. Ben Burtt FTW!R-Dot-Yung
Same, the Wilhelm scream has been used since the beginning of time, its used in every damn Star Wars movie...
Im schocked at how many people in this thread are suprised at this
Yep, it's really used in lots, lots, lots of movies. ex. Reservoir Dogs when Mr. Pink is haulin @$$ down the street runnin from the cops after the heist. I like that one. Apparently it was first recorded in the movie "Distant Drums" in 1951. There are other sound effects that are often used in movies - and games too. Like... that hydraulic door opening sound you might have heard in a doom game. or that lonnnnng belly scream... i think your character shouts it if he falls great distance in jedi knight (pc game) for ex.This particular scream has been used in probably hundreds of films.. you'll instantly recognize it. Here's a youtube compilation of a handful of them:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YDpuA90KEY&feature=relatedatayl22

Heh, yeah I read up on that after I watched Death Proof and heard the scream. I think its by some dude from like the 1950's isn't it?Slump3317the earliest instance i've seen a vid of is this "charge on feather river" movie or something from the the 50's. This cowboy type on horseback makes that squeal when and arrow comes out of nowhere and flies into his thigh. But i think that was the first time it was RE-used. "distant drums" was a year or two earlier and the original scream. i wiki'd it.
Oh yeah, and the cowboy's name was Wilhelm.
I knew it! I always wondered why when someone falls, its always the same screem.SeanDog123lol yeah me too, I've heard that scream so many times. xD

Oh yeah, and the cowboy's name was Wilhelm.I thought the first one was in a scene where some guy got bitten by and alligator.
