It's finally come and I couldn't ask for a better trailer. Not too much stuff going on, not too much footage being shown, just a great sneak peek at what's coming.

Saw this earlier, and I love it. Glad that the new director appears to be focusing on the humans just as much as the apes. And the cast is spectacular also: Gary Oldman (!), Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, and, of course, Andy Serkis.
Plus, that final shot. Epic.
Trailer got me far more excited than any of the other "big" trailers to come out recently (Interstellar, Godzilla, Spider-Man, etc.)
Looks pretty badass! Seems like it took them FOREVER to finally release a trailer for this movie though....
The first movie was actually the very first movie my GF and I saw on our first date, so I am thinking we will most certainly be checking this one out!
Love the first movie so i will check this out. interesting that went a more dark route though. but the title kinda bugs. should have been rise of the apes and dawn of the apes without "planet" in it.
No James Franco? Aw, looks good though.
I'm interested in how they're going to write him off. Maybe the virus kills him and it just adds fuel to the fire when Caeser goes to war.
@-paranorman-: Not sure how that would "fuel the fire". Would make more sense if he died in the hands of humans. Maybe for helping Caesar or creating the original drug that caused the virus. Oldman's monologue mentions that humans fought each other after the virus, if humans were responsible for his death then Caesar would really be pissed at our species.
@SaintLeonidas: Well, humans were also responsible for the virus that broke out. If that had killed Franco, the attachment that he and Caeser had would probably put him in a bitter and enraged state which could probably build up over time. Maybe Franco died during the war too like you said. I'm looking forward to seeing what happened and seeing how it impacts Caeser.
@-paranorman-: Franco is partially responsible for the virus, Caesar wouldn't be mad at other humans if Franco died at the hands of a virus he helped create.
@SaintLeonidas: Lame, my message didn't go through lol. I was saying that I don't think Caeser would take Franco's death lightly though, especially if he had died during the war. They've shown that Caeser gets pretty emotional when people or apes he cares about die. Like when the Gorilla died in his hands, or when he would see some other apes get shot by the police.
@-paranorman-: Not saying Caesar would take Franco's death lightly, however having Franco die of the virus would not be a plausible catalyst to enraged Caesar more towards the humans, because Franco would just be dying by his own hand because he helped create the virus. It makes more sense if humans actually killed Franco for his involvement in the virus and Caesars uprising. Then Caesar would actually have more of a reason to fight.
@SaintLeonidas: Caeser already has a reason to fight though. What that reason is hasn't been shown or told yet. I think if Franco did die and if it was recent with the time of the ape vs human fight, then it would have an emotional impact on Caeser. Personally I think Caeser might turn sorrow into anger since he was one of the few humans to treat Caeser like family and raised him since he was little.

You don't think it's plausible for Caesar to have some misplaced anger?
The CGI on Caeser and the other apes is mindblowing compared to the CGI in movies like the Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Thor, X-Men, etc.

Sure...but if they are in fact going to have Franco's character dead in this film, and use that as a major reason why Caesar fights the humans, then it makes no sense for him to die of the virus. Not sure how anyone could think Franco dying of a virus he helped create would make Caesar more angry at our species than humans actually killing Franco's character for what he did.

I doubt it would be the major reason why Caeser goes up against humans if he died from the virus. I'm just saying that it could just give him an emotional push. If he does die from getting killed during a war, then that will also give Caeser an emotional push that will lead him to fight. I don't think that the writers will make Franco's death the true reason why the apes took over the earth. It will be a minor part of how or why they took over, I just look forward to how it will impact Caeser in the movie. That's if they choose to kill him in either of those ways. They could always just go with the "He moved to another place" thing which imo will probably be a massive disappointment lol.
@Pirate700: Well the person playing Caeser is actually Andy Serkis in a motion capture suit :P Would be weird seeing a man with an ape mask running around like that. The CG makes the movement and entire look accurate of that of an ape. The older movies were great for what they had back in the day, but what they're doing right now for this movie looks and feels great. At least to me it does.
@-paranorman-: Either way, I too hope he is dead and not just somewhere else. What I am really interested in is how they make use sympathize with Caesar, which is crucial.
