You aparantly haven't smoked weed. If you want to be depressed things will look gloomy to you. If you're depressed and want to be positive you'll be optimistic about everything.
Go with something harder, you won't have to worry about any of it![QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="tanman636"]weed.....jealentus

Weed can be depressing depending on your mindset going in to it. Personally, I've never been depressed after smoking.
Well, considering that we're talking about people who are depressed.....
Drugs and booze, best solution to depression I know.Mumbles527

Yes, but being depressed going in doesn't necessarily mean you'll be the same in the midst of it. If you're depressed, but you think weed will make you happy, it very well might. It's not just about how you feel beforehand, but how you think the drug will affect you.

That's how people develope substance abuse problems.

I haven't reserached the effects? Really? I've smoked countless times which is actual experimentation rather than some old prude bastard child's bias theories.

You can't become PHYSICALY addicited to marijuana, but you can easily develop a mental dependancy on it. If you think the only thing that can make you happy is weed, than you are probably going to smoke it alot.

I've driven drunk countless times. And I haven't crashed or gotten pulled over by the cops once. That's far better evidence that driving drunk is safe, rather than listening to some shrivelled up old prude tell me that it's not safe when he willingly admits that he doesn't even do it.

You sure as hell can if you think that you need it to make you happy.
But you're never going to go through crappy withdrawal if someone cuts you off. Withdrawal is what makes it a substance abuse problem to me, because withdrawal blows ass.You can't get a substance abuse problem with weed.[QUOTE="Mumbles527"][QUOTE="reddevilyi"]That's how people develope substance abuse problems.MrGeezer

Coming from a stoner this is true. I'm not addicted, I smoked every day for the last month and a half and I'm on my second night without it and I'm doing just fine, but the weak minded dependant people... well... blame the shooter, not the gun.

Thats not even a fair argument. Alcohol affects your brain quite differently. I would never drive drunk because I know my personal limits as for what I would do go up, and my reaction time would be delayed. I don't have either of those when I smoke pot.
And if you think I started driving stoned right away you're wrong. It was a very gradual thing. I started seeing if I could do safe things like chores first, they felt normal, even slightly interesting, then went on from there until I knew my motor vehicle operation skills were on par with when I'm sober. And I didn't try driving on a freeway my first time, I drove country roads until I knew it was the same.
Look I'm not here to have a flame war with you. I just want you to think for yourself and not listen to everybody else's "facts" which just so happened to be government sponsored, the only people who wouldn't make any money off of legal marijuana (besides medical, which is in government control). And if you want to come back and say "Well then I won't listen to your facts!" then feel free, because I'd be doing my job in making you a little more skeptical and a little more self serving with your mind.

I mean, hypothetically with most drugs you can completely avoid withdrawal symptons by taking the drug all the time.
Does this mean that you don't have a substance abuse problem?

Situation wouldn't work, I said you'd have withdrawal "if someone cuts you off." No ones cut you off if you're free to take it all the time. Coke withdrawal sucks, I felt like crap because I hadn't blown any lines recently, and you really feel like you need to do it for a while. I smoke weed every day, but if someone told me I had to stop tomorrow, I'd be a little upset, but I wouldn't feel like I needed it.[QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="jealentus"][QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="jealentus"][QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="tanman636"]weed.....jealentus

Your whole argument was that you don't have to listen to "experts" when it comes to information about pot...your personal "experimentation" is all the "research that you need.
Well, by that logic, that applies to ANY drug. Since you won't know that alcohol has a more dangerous effect on driving until you've researched it, or after you've tried it. If we're throwing scientific knowledge out the window in favor of personal anecdotal experience, then there's no need to listen to what ANYONE has to say about pot, booze, cocaine, or heroin.
