Story.

Patrick Snay, 69, won $80,000 settlement with her previous employer for age discrimination. As part of the settlement there was a confidentiality clause, preventing both him and his employer from discussing the case.

Enter Dana Snay (above doing her best Miley Cyrus impersonation). She decided to post on Facebook that her folks won their case and are paying for her vacation to Europe in the summer.

As a result word got to the school's lawyers, who turned around and appealed the settlement. The dad said he needed to tell his daughter something but didn't think she would spread the word.

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure her dad told her not to tell but she trusted her 1200 friends and her privacy settings too much...

Like tell the daughter, "hey heads up, don't tell people I told you because me telling you itself is not allowed but also because you know public"

I actually thought this article was going to be about a girl who got kicked out of college for a ridiculous FB post after just paying $80,000 in non-refundable tuition.

With the NSA stalkers sticking their noses up everyone's anus like the dogs of the government that they are, these folks would have lost their money regardless.

Another case of a young girl who doesnt think about how public facecrap really is and that anything she puts up there can come back to haunt you.

But at least this dumb chick isent going to europe.

He was actually my principal in high school before taking the position at that Gulliver school. He was a nice enough guy, but was definitely too lax and carefree to be taken seriously as a principal.

But lol at his stupid daughter.

Wouldn't "not discussing the case with anyone" include your daughter? Even is he did tell her, he obviously didn't make it clear enough that they would lose the money if she talked about it. Point is, teen girl is dumb, but it was the dad who allowed this situation to happen.

Not exactly, what cost him the money was the fact that HE talked to people about it, not the fact that his daughter did.

What you're saying is that even if the daughter had not told anyone he would still have lost the money just because of the sheer fact that he talked with his daughter. That's obviously not the case and you're wrong.

He violated the agreement, not his daughter.

Yes that's what you're saying. Ignorance FTL.

Violating the agreement is in itself not necessarily enough to lose the money, as shown here. In this case he lost the money because of two mutually inclusive events.

Facebook has exposed the stupid people to the rest of the world. They make it easy on criminals by telling the world when they go on vacation, their daily patterns and where they're at 24/7.

What an idiot. Not everything needs to be shared.

But then again, I would think, unless told otherwise, that 'not discussing the case' would mean the DETAILS of the case, like who did or said what. Your dad goes to court and comes back 80k richer, you're going to know whether he won or lost. Still shouldn't have posted about it, but damn.
