I dont like Jaws. The whole last half on the boat is slow and boring; and too long imo. I usually dont mind longer movies ( ilove LotR and King Kong '05) but it just drags. I really dont enjoy wacthing it. It may be good, i personally just dont like it.

How about you guys and gals?

Metropolis. I know it's a renowned sci-fi classic, but I always fall asleep within the first half-hour.

Didn't like The Godfather, started it at like 10:00 though so I was pretty freaking tired. I fell asleep while he was in Sicily or whatever.

Deer Hunter, though some (including me, naturally) would argue it's not really a classic. It's also boring as hell.

Every Stanley Kubrick film (activates flame shield). They just feel pretentious to me. Also, how can you think the second half of Jaws is the boring part? If you wanted to find any part boring (which I personally don't), it would be the first half.

I actually liked Gone with the Wind, the dude at the end saying "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" was so freaking badass.

Oh yeah I'll definitely give it another shot, it's just hard to get three hours of uninterrupted free time that I want to spend watching a movie.

2001: A Space Oddessy (So terribly boring and I feel like Kubrick himself didn't even understand what point he was trying to get across...)

Hitchcock in general bores me (granted I still haven't seen Vertigo or Strangers on a Train which are suppossed classics)

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (I have had multiple film classes make us watch this PoS. I think the movie is awful and don't care about any importance it may have had in the film world...)

The Shining (Watching it again recently, I just feel like the only two good things about the movie are Nicholson and Kubrick. Story is boring and quite frankly it isn't the LEAST bit scary)

Pulp Fiction (This one probably needs a more current viewing, but honestly I just didn't think the movie was anything special)

The trick to enjoying Titanic is just to watch the second half where shit gets real! :P

But yeah, in terms of the whole love story in that movie I have always thought the love story in that movie was awful....

In general I avoid anything love-related movies because they are almost always shallow and unrealistic cringeworthy shit for women. Titanic was particularly painful for me because I was forced to watch it, that's why I mentioned it. No idea how can some people consider it a classic, the movie was crafted worse than the ship itself.

Eh, I hated the love story part but the way they re-created the sinking of the ship on-screen was absolutely amazing IMO.

If it weren't for the awful and long-drawn out first half with the love story the movie would be a classic for me. I REALLY love the second half of that movie and think it was a real marvel seeing that ship sink on the big screen. There is some really haunting stuff in that movie with the real-life stories they threw in there (the captain and the band and such) and also the whole part where they have to sift through the thousands of floating bodies trying to find any survivors that might be stranded.

I also have to really respect how difficult that was for them to do so well. They put A LOT of effort into making the sinking look as authentic as possible. They had mechanized parts of the ship and such. Was an astronomically big production for it's time.

Casablanca. Pretty boring.

Citizen Kane. Don't see what's all the fuss about. Maybe back then, not now.

Gone with the Wind, although not a bad movie is also kind of boring.

The problem with very old movies, is that people generally talk and behave in a way most people today can't relate with.

American Beauty. I found Kevin Spacey's character entertaining enough, but i can't stand the teenagers or the mom. Wanted to take that damn plastic bag and choke that guy out with it. Everything just comes to a stop when Spacey is not on screen. Not saying its a crap movie, but something I just can't sit through.

I won't argue the impact, however the whole boat sequence felt dragged out, it had its moments, but the climax of the movie didnt have to be dragged on to be half of the entire movie. I felt the build up to be more exciting, the fear the town had. Thats just me.
