starting today the royal canadian mint will begin punching out new bills. these bills are made of polymer. starting with 100 dollar denominations and slowly phasing out paper in the coming years.

Rather have cash still, No paper trail. Plus the places where I buy Major electronics or appliances if I pay with cash they don't tack on tax, Which saves me alot of money.

see above for occasions where cash is the only option -pirate says a positive is that those tips will go away -but all that means is that the lost wages will be incorporated into the bill...decreasing consume power and employee motivation

what costs more to make the paper or the plastic? i am for what ever costs more to make, though 'real' backed money would be best for our northern brothers, or any state for that matter.

Naw, I think cash still serves a purpose. There are some people who can't use a credit card for financial reasons, and I prefer to have the money in my hand when I spend it, because then I realize Im spending money. Thats why alot of people are in debt, because they put everything on a credit card and just don't realize the amount there spending. Cash is Also nice for vending machines :P

And yes also sometimes you don't want things on record >_>

If they can't deal with debit, then that's a personal problem.

I've always been afraid of the day where I'd supply a 3.50 dollar tip to the waitress on the written bill and she would change the 3 into an 8 in attempts to get more money out of me.

That's the beauty of the credit cards. They're by far the safest form of money. If a waitress actually did that, your money would instantly be refunded and the waitress would be in serious trouble. Any misdoings that happen with cash are on you.
