Better Call Saul last season finally has a release date

The 13 episode final season will roll out in two parts, with the first seven episodes launching April 18 and culminating with the series final six episodes starting July 1.

Any fans here? I've been watching the series since the first season the writing has been so good it seems like every season has got better than the last. It will be interesting to see the show finally jump into the Breaking Bad timeline I'm betting we will probably see Walt and Jesse at some point.

I'm definitely psyched for this. I'm dreading on what Kim's fate is gonna be--got a feeling things won't end well for her.

Can't wait. This show got better and better with each season.

The most recent season was uploaded to Netflix not too long ago so I rewatched the entire thing after watching the new season.

I love all the characters. There really isn't a bad (or good) character, they all do some really great stuff and some really terrible stuff.

Of course the brothers are the most fascinating; where would you put them on the DnD Alignment table? I'd put Jimmy as Chaotic, mostly good and neutral, with the occasional dip into evil, even.

Chuck is definitely lawful, though I think he falls into lawful evil too often in order to hurt Jimmy or get his way.

It really did. Many shows have better seasons, but rarely does a series have a steady increase in quality.

I actually prefer it over Breaking Bad.

Did anybody here watch the premier? I thought it was great can't believe how fast 2 hours and a half went.

Have to start over. Last episode I watched was the one where the This Is Spinal Tap actor dies, years ago. Don't remember enough. Watching currently airing stuff blows. Might wait for a BD boxset.

@warm_gun: I imagine that once the series is done, they'll do a set similar to that of Breaking Bad.

I'm just happy that even though they're splitting the season in half, you don't have to wait a whole year for the second half. (First 7 episodes are airing now, the remaining 6 will premiere July 11).

Better Call Saul better than Breaking Bad?

That's debatable it's much more of a slow burn compared to BB but even with that said the series sucks you in because the writing is so good. It will be interesting to see how the show ends I still like Breaking Bad a little bit more but not by much though. Skyler is what hurts BB the most especially on a rewatch where Better Call Saul doesn't have any constant annoying characters which makes the show alot stronger.

I'm currently at season 5 on Netflix. I thought I started at the perfect time a few months ago just in time to catch season 6. It turns out Netflix users have to wait until next year :-/

@one_plum: Are you in the US? I know that they are airing the current episode on Netflix the day after they broadcast, bit that's only for international users.

@hallenbeck77: In Canada. As far as I can tell, we'll get it at the same time as American Netflix users.

@one_plum: Since I cut my cable, I wound up purchasing season 6 from a digital storefront (Amazon Video has the episodes available the day after it airs). That's an option instead of waiting the whole year for it to come on Netflix. Next week is the mid-season finale, so you'll still have time to catch up before the final six episodes premiere July 11.

@one_plum: No worries. Most things that I watch, I'll just wait for it to hit streaming but BCS is one of the few things I'll make an effort to watch immediately.

Yeah, I had a feeling something big was going to happen in this mid season finale and it didn't disappoint.

It sure was the look on Saul's and Kim's face when he appeared was such a holy shit moment I could almost feel the internal doom inside them.

finally caught up and just in time for s6 part two. watched to mid s2 when it first released but it was just far too slow and not really what i expected or wanted after breaking bad.

jumped back in from s3 a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed it. it is still slow at times but its so beautifully shot, soundtracked and scripted it can be forgiven. or fast forwarded ;)

gets better and better relative to the decreasing plot distance between jimmy / saul, and the cartel, salamancas and chicken man. when those two plotlines collide it became the show i always hoped it would be. roll on tues and ep8

Nice I'm glad you're enjoying it the series definitely gets better season by season like you mention. Slowing turning more and more into a crime show then a court show I guess might be the best way to put it. The action starts picking up and you can see the Breaking Bad universe starting to be created.

well damn, that was a banger. and still like 5 episodes left. leaves a lot of rooms to close out a few storylines.

i'm assuming there may be some focus on post bb jimmy though with the time they have left.

Yep, it started Monday the second part of the finale season it was awesome.

Yeah, it will interesting to see what Saul/ Gene will do now. I have a feeling that when the story stays in post BB that the black and white flashbacks will go into color for the final transition.

With 5 episodes left I imagine there will be time to show Jimmy's full transformation into Saul, and then a segue into present time.

No idea what kinds of surprises there might be yet, if any. I figure the Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul cameos will probably happen with another jump to the timeline of BB. I can't really figure out how else that would go down.

A whole lot of nothing in last episode but I still found it very entertaining.

Same here it also triggered me to want a Cinnabon I never had one but now I must have one.

Oh yeah, especially when he was making them and slapping the icing on.

I didn't like this latest episode as much.

I'm not sure why he even got involved with that guy and put himself at risk even more. And it made the Gene timeline kind of lame. Hopefully there is some payoff to all of this.
