Visually it look great, but it's Zach Snyder helming. After being disappointed with Man of Steel, it's difficult to get my hopes up. I'm more interested in the Ben Affleck directed version of The Batman, just to see what he can do with a comic book property.
@iloveatlus: You and me both are. This is Batman/Superman coming to the big screen for the first time and what a great way to start off a Justice League movie.
@Hallenbeck77: if I may ask but what parts you'll didn't like about Man of Steel? I really enjoy the movie and sure, it has it's flaws but I'm just glad it was a successful Superman movie for once and if it had flop, there was a good chance that WB might not work on a Justice League movie.
Man of Steel was good but this movie just feels off. It doesn't help that I really dislike two of the biggest casting decisions they made...
Again Zack Snyder with his trailers that gives people hype. Still cautious though cause Man Of Steel disappointed me so much.
I liked Man of Steel and this looks good also, so I will definitely check it out. Not opening weekend though, hate crowds.
Looks like another live action Saturday morning cartoon. *yawns*
That's giving cartoons a disservice. The DC straight to DVD animations have been great.

That's a fantastic point. The animated DC films are indeed pretty sweet.

I had high hopes for MoS. Some of the criticisms of the movie I could look past (Him killing Zod, destroying Metropolis, etc.) but the two I couldn't ignore was Pa Kent wanting Clark to ignore using his powers to help others--betraying the core of the Superman character. The other was that Superman is a symbol of optimism and hope...and there was none of that to be found in the movie...It was just joyless and bleak. It doesn't need to have jokes non-stop, but it could have had less of a ultra-serious vibe to it.

A problem with most Zack Snyder movies, apparently being under the impression it's Seventh Seal he's making, this is what made 300 so meme worthy, a movie utterly po faced in contrast to the ridiculousness of the lines they are spouting out.

I think the only movie of his I liked was his version of Dawn of the Dead. 300 was okay, and Sucker Punch was just a mess.

But that is what makes him noble, he still helped people even though his father warned him. In this trailer his mom says that he doesn't owe them anything, but he still decides to help people. So the core of the character was still there, to me at least.

At least you got that from it, but it was missing from me.
BTW...is it just me, but how the hell does Bruce Wayne run into the direction of a crumbling building, and not get ANY sort of dust on him?! I just noticed that.

You might not like Batman v Superman because of Batman's character for the same reason. He does say that Superman must be destroyed.
I will go ahead and say that Ben Affleck doesn't look horrible as Bruce Wayne. And that's saying something. Hype? 2/10. I'm just getting ready for my Jar Jar Abrams disappointment this December. Lets take it one at a time.
I'm not really a superhero movie guy so I'm not up to date on this stuff, but is this a direct sequel to MoS, or is this just an offshoot they're doing before MoS 2? Is there a planned trilogy or arc with these films like the Batman ones, or are they just kinda winging it.
After watching the trailer it seems like it's setting up a Justice League movie obviously, but still I'm wondering if they're basically saying that it's MoS 2 or are they gonna spin this off into a whole new Justice League series and just wanted to introduce it this way.
i wish they would quit messing around with lame properties like superman and get into the vertigo line up more heavily.
that could actually a be a connected movie series dc could stand out in.
preacher, animal man, y the last man, sandman or even swamp thing or sandman would all be better choices than yet another movie giving the big blue boy scout another gritty remake.
if you want gritty, pick a gritty character for crying out loud.
shoehorning superman into these dark stories makes no sense at all.
they are busting their asses to replicate the mcu with all the wrong people.
they could have exactly what they want with the whole cool gritty darker universe if they just used the right characters.
Not really excited...I'm not much of a DC guy and crossovers makes it even less interesting for me. That being said, it doesn't look terrible and I will probably rent it somewhere along the line.
Was I the only one who thought that the bat light/symbol put on serious weight?
They needed to fit Superman's symbol in it for the logo and then it would look weird if the symbol in the actual movie was all slim XD
I want to be hyped for this, I really do. But Zack Synder has a long history of creating disappointing movies.
Sammy, are you looking...forward to this movie?
Oh you.
I haven't seen Man of Steel and I've only seen three Marvel movies.
@Riverwolf007:
preacher is going to be a tv series on amc.
Sandman is also in the works as a movie
well that's pretty cool i will have to look that up.
The bat signal is big and Batman is bulky and older (look at the conspicuous white hair on Wayne) because the movie is drawing inspiration from the comic/novel The Dark Knight Returns and if you have read it you know that Batman will beat Superman (if they follow it).
And regarding DC Universe Animated Original Movies, at least 3/4 of them have sucked but you mammaluccos are in luck since the DC Universe Animated version of The Dark Knight Returns is actually pretty good, specially the first part (it is divided in two movies) so check that one out if you can.
So uh...are they doing their origins again? Looked like we got flashbacks to both of their origins in this trailer. This movie really reeks of a Comic B-movie.
Should be good for some mindless movie going fun. I'm not very picky about movies especially those that are comic book inspired.

Ah
That would make sense

And if they're willing to lose a whole lot of money.
