It looks awesome, I think. I love how it's actually bloody and violent. Something that was sorely lacking in the original movies. I'm.....not I'm going to see it in a theater though. Not when I got HBO Max! 😆

When the trailer drop, it got lots of praises and I'm a long time MK fan of the arcade era to MK11 now. I'm so looking forward to this and coming to HBO Max is a nice bonus too!

I'll be ready for the blu-ray drop. I won't be going to a theater anytime soon.

There's absolutely no way it can be worse than Annihilation. I'll most likely buy it on 4K.

Watched the 7minutes clip (Scorpion vs Sub Zero) and i have to say it looks and feels better than expected. Decent choreography and camera work, the gore level is MK worthy and the CGI blood splatter is not too excessive.

Just got done watching the new MK film on HBO Max.

I got to say, the performances in this was way better then I expected and the fight scenes are great. If you liked Godzilla vs Kong you're going to love this. I expect this movie to do very well and it was said if the movie does well we'd get a trilogy. Johnny Cage is in the movie sorta and his actor looks like it might be Ryan Renards but he is only as cameo as a poster half shown. Kano really is the best thing in this movie, Reptile was wasted as he should be, Mileena was meh, Kabal was another character I think they really nailed it. Loved him here in this movie, & Bi-Han (the original Sub-Zero) is a freaking badass here. They did good with Sub-Zero.

Even though I'm a very long time MK fan of the games since day one, so take my score what it is but I'm giving this film a 8/10.

And do keep in mind, depending what you say if it's "faithful to the source material" all I can say is:

• All if your asking if characters act like they do in the games, then yes, yes they do. For instance, Kano is and does as you'd expect him to do. He is not what the "trailer" and earlier photos made him out to be.
• Liu Kang was done very well for being a supporting character, Cole's character had a very believable story.
• The pacing of the movie in my opinion feels bad, however each fight scene is easily an 8/10 or 9/10.
• The film is similar to the first MK movie (1995) in that it follows tournament 9 of 10. So yes its basically a brand new story that plans for a trilogy. An yes lore is being replaced with the existence of Cole in general.

Hmm. I've said before that video game movies broadly only fall into three categories; merely watchable, entertainingly bad and unbearably awful.

Sounds like this one is in the "merely watchable" camp.

I have been playing MK11 and MKX for the past couple of days, And once my fiance gets off work...we're going to order a bunch of pizza and indulge in the long awaited film!

I can't wait! The Trailer makes me feel that the fights, if nothing else, will make it worth while.

I kept checking HBO Max last night to see when it would drop exactly. I'm in Mountain time, so when Steam games do a midnight drop they tend to drop at 12AM Eastern which is a reasonable 10PM for me. Sadly, the movie dropped at 12AM Pacific which is 1AM here so I didn't get to check it out last night. Tonight I'll make time for it, for sure.

I just finished watching I give it a 6/10 just not a fan of the actors that played Shang Tsung, Raiden,, and Lui Kang the originals from the first movie look more like their gaming counterparts. TBH now I feel like watching the 95 movie it was a million times better. Also the cheesiness from these movies fit so much better in the 90's it feels so forced with the new one.

Just watched it. It was not bad. I agree pacing was kind of weird and I wasn't a huge fan of most of the actors. But overall, it was entertaining and would watch a sequel.

I’ve given up on movies now that all the theatres are shut down, I haven’t even been keeping up with what’s coming out of being made(if anything really).

I'm watching it next week. I've kept my expectations low since the first trailer came out, but judging from the reception, it might actually be decent enough to spawn some sequels and expand that universe.

Sounds awful. But I will watch, I have HBO Max after all. WB will make this shit but won't finance a third season of Harley Quinn, who the **** runs Hollywood?

Kano was great (though part of me thinks it was just the accent), as was the actor that played Scorpion (I recognize him from many other films), but outside of that I thought the acting was kind of "meh".

Not that I was expecting or hoping for much. I mean, it's a MK movie...it should be kind of hokey.

I just watched animated MK Legends: Skorpion's Revenge and it was seriously like 100x better than the live-action movie.

Just like all the DC/Warner Bros stuff.

Would love to see some animated Lord of the Rings stuff from them.

The film was seriously a load of rubbish in my opinion but each to their own.
