Yeah, I agree with the TC, sometimes it's not that good.

Good for you. And do tell wtf is so damn wrong with this country?
I am very proud to be from here. This place has alot of rich history, like everywhere else. The government does not make up the people and their are very good people in this country, people i would willingly die for.
I wouldn't say that statement but what it does have is alot of cool people.
You're saying we don't have some fascinating history? And don't be so quick to point out the negative only.

Dude, you are right, we do have some rich history under our belts. Apparently WSP87 never listened in history, eh?No. I am not embarrassed to be American at all. In fact, i'm proud to be an american, and I fully support and love the ideas and the principals that this country was founded on. I may not agree with where it is headed, but I am proud to call myself an American nonetheless.
This is sad. Honestly if your embressed move to Candada or something, you have the freedom to choose where you live and have citzenship

Oh, yeah, guess i slept through that one... And i guess that England and their advanced healthcare methods get a pass with their Imperialism and using Darwin as an excuse to try and rule the world. Or Hitler's Germany. OR the problems in Africa right now. No, America has been the devil of the world right? This thread suddenly wreaks of elitist ignorance...

I was born and raised in the United States of America. But I don't see myself as an American. Our culture is pretty primitive.. then again, so is most of the rest of the worlds cultures..................
I have not seen anyone in the US that is embarrassed about being an American. In fact, none of the people that I've met from many different countries are embarrassed for being born in their respective countries. However I have met many Chinese that are so proud of being in America they think everything American is good and rejected everything Chinese... it is quite a sad sight to see really. I even heard an old Chinese lady that can barely speak English telling someone else she is not Chinese and can only speak English, while speaking with a thick Chinese (I am assuming Cantonese) accent...
I'm sure there are people out there who are not proud of their place of birth, but from what I can see it is fairly common with Chinese, at least from the ones that I've met...
P.S. I should clarify that I am from Hong Kong before people mistaken me as racist
I'm embarrassed by the 2 party system. It's ancient and has needed reformation for a long time. I'm embarrassed by the governtment, who does little about illegal immigration. At this point we need immigration reform, but we first need leaders who promise to end illegal immigration and deliver it. I'm embarrassed by a president who says "Wer'e not a Christian nation", when in fact 75% of people consider themselves Christian (less than 1% are Muslim or Hindu). I'm embarrassed by some cultural things like the pornagraphy and rap music that spawned here. Overall, I still have alot of pride in Americans to do the right things though.
Impossible for me to be embarrassed.
I served and defended this nation: and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I'm embarassed to be of the Human species. And it only gets worse every day as I relized that we will never get off this rock before poisoning ourselves, cooking ourselves, or blowing ourselves to smithereens. I can only imagine what aliens think of us.
Trashing the Bush doctrine was well worth a nobel prize, imo. When our President wins a Nobel Peace Prize for doing NOTHING. Yes.

Why would I be embarrassed about something that wasn't my fault?
I am actually quite proud to be an American.

Care to elaborate on that?
Exactly, Please elaborate... Obama has done nothing BUT continue Bush's concept of America... It's a whole WWE thing that alot of you people will never understand.
No for one I don't let other peoples stereotypes get to me and two there is nothing wrong with being American.
Where? I live in Atlanta and racism never seems to be much of a problem.[QUOTE="WarEagle1357"][QUOTE="Lilyanne46"]
Yes, I am. Especially since I live in the southeast. Pretty much the most stereotypical, and racist region in America.
Yes, I know racism is everywhere, but it is worse down here.
Lilyanne46
How ironic. I live in Atlanta. But in the past places I've lived, racism is terrible.
Honestly you can go to almost any country and get that.
