Are beanies thuggish?

Do beanies make people, or at least certain people, appear thuggish or as if they are trying to be thuggish? Is there something nefarious about wearing beanies? Are beanies appropriate for only extremely cold weather?

The only people I see wearing beanies are douchebags, hipsters, chavs, and combinations of the three, but maybe that's just me.Overlord93

ha i wear my beanie all times of year.

i dont think it makes you look thuggish on its own. mixed with other "styles" however it may add to the thuggish look. and the people who wear one to try to look thuggish are probly the same people who think smoking makes them look cool.

its just an accessory, doesnt neccesarily make you look thuggish on its own.

i do in fact wear my beanie in the summer and such, but not all the time. i usually wear it when my hair gets kinda long.

it gets curly and doesnt like to stay tame. id have to use a crap ton of hair spray/gel to get it to stay down and that just leaves my hair nasty.

so i wear the beanie to tame my hair. sometimes i wear a hat also, but more times than not, i wear my beanie.

I wear beanies all the time during the autumn and winter. I can't look thuggish. I've tried.

I don't think a beanie can make someone look thuggish unless they have some other quality that makes them look thuggish.

That depends. If someone is trying to look thuggish, then if it probably does. If someone is trying to keep their head warm, or it just suits them well, then it probably dosen't.

I sometimes wear one in cold weather. It's a pretty normal look in long-sleeved clothing during the winter.

i shave my head, so I wear them to keep warm when it is cold out. But I have been told that it does make me look a bit more menacing, but I think that is just because I am a big guy with a beard :P

Depends on who wears them. They look stylish on your typical well groomed and well dressed guy.

I haven't worn a beanie since high school, but that's because it was a snow day.

It's fine to wear them when it's cold but all year long, no. Looks tacky.

I have a massive head so beanies are the best hats for keeping my ears warm when it's cold.

Depends. If it's a generic black beanie as well as wearing a black leather jacket it could look thuggish. But if you buy some nice one's like Only beanies then they can look quite nice

I made this thread because people have told me that when I wear a benie I look suspicious. For example, yesterday I was walking down the street and when I turned around a corner I almost bumped into a young women in her twenties. We both suddenly stopped and looked at one another; she looked at me for a brief second and made an expression of agitation. She then walked around me and bumped into me (it was her fault; I was against the exterior of a building and couldn't move to the side). After she bumped into me, she said "Oh! F*ck you!" and kept walking. People have told me that if I didn't wear a beanie I wouldn't have experiences like this one. What do you think? I think otherwise because even when I don't wear one, I get the same reactions. Am I cursed?

have you considered that it may not be your beanie (whatever a beanie is) and it may be the fact that you are bright blue and you glow.

It was somewhat chilly and rainy yesterday, which warranted wearing it. Furthermore, I saw other people wearing beanies.
