Apple doesnt like DRM

apparently apple doesnt like using DRM for their music in itunes and only did it to get the major labels on board. they want to get rid of it now. while this is happening, microsoft is pushing DRM like theres no tommorow.

And the RIAA came back and said "No, why don't you just release your iTunes DRM scheme to other music player manufacturers so they can use their iTunes music on other players." I haven't heard Jobs respond to that yet

Cause, oh noes, people might actually buy a different player.

The day iTunes works with other players is the day satan gets a cold. There is no way Apple is going to bend to that. I think Apple is only going in favor of this publicly, is because it won't happen anytime soon in reality. They're appearing consumer-friendly, but I don't buy it. I can't see them gaining anything from allowing compatibility with iTunes to other players. Sure, they'd have more people using iTunes, but they'd probably lose iPod sales (not like they can't afford it). iTunes was a huge reason for me to buy an iPod.
