Does anyone if it's possible if you can walk into a place, looking for a job and they'll offer you one on the spot with no interview, or an on the spot interview and hired right after? Is it all about timing, location, who you know, etc.? Has this ever happened to anyone?

If you want to improve your chances, filling out a application online will not cut it. Everyone likes a face with their application...introduce yourself properly and ask open ended questions. The days of filling out a application and walking away are over.

I honestly don't think there is really such a thing as being hired "on the spot", at least by any repuable company. If an employer is going to add someone to their payroll, they're going to make sure they are qualified...and that isn't something that's going to happen instantly.

That's how I got my current job. Just handed in my resume and told me I could start work. Granted it's only a part-time job and not a career.

That's how I got my flag football referee job. Of course, I had to flirt with the boss a little.

going through a interview board is a different story though I think, than applying for mcdonalds. I didn't even know I was tapping my feet under the desk while being asked questions like, "So, why did you choose to become a EMT?" lol, some of the lines I gave was..because I wanted to be more involved in my community...which wasn't the truth, but what I think won them over was that fact I said...I wanted to be part of a team. It is kinda hard because you have other people there wanting that job your applying for and you have to pretty much sell yourself.

No - why would an employer make a blind investment in hiring a person whom they know nothing about? For fairly low-end positions there may not be anything more required than one interview and an offer's made straight away thereafter. For more senior positions I've had candidates offered positions on the spot after an interview, but even that itself smacks of desperation (or at least it can do). As an applicant you can try and 'close' the interviewer at the end to secure the positoin there and then, but again that can backfire...

Yep, sure enough. It's called being a farmhand. Not gonna lie though, a lot of it is backbreaking labor. But you can get hired on the spot.
