I want one too but i haven't decided on what to get. My uncle and aunt are waiting for the day i tell them to take me to the tattoo shop. :P They say it depends on where you get it.

[QUOTE="hiphopballer"]I still get compliments on mine as I approach 40 Yep - this has everything to do with the quality of the tattoo, the skill of the artist and the method used to do the tattooing. There is a good reason why a lot of musicians I have known etc tend to spend a lot of money on their tattoos and require multiple visits, and they also tend to seek out a well known or otherwise exceptional artist, sometimes having to wait a few months for an appointment. If you are going to get a tattoo, it's worth the extra effort to avoid getting a bad one. I have one but so far have decided to stop there. It got it on the top part of my arm close to my shoulder and I honestly didn't think it hurt much at all (but where you get it will affect that). I thought it was rather fun.my cousin has one and he said it hurts. the cons is when you get old it looks disgusting
xaos
I have one, on my side right below my ribs and kinda on them. It's pretty big and a lot of it is solid black. I do not recommend your side considering it hurts like hell.
That tattoo would hurt because it has a lot of work on the clavicle. That bit hurts, the skin is not so deep there.
yeh i have a few, and of course they hurt its exactly what it sounds like.. a sharp needle stabbing you over and over. but the pain is very manageable
yeh maybe if the pen has fangs and venom and razor blades and grenadesI have two and no, it doesn't hurt. It just feels like someone is drawing on you with a pen.

because acknowledgment of pain makes me a wuss?? sorry Mr Tough guy..., considering i said the pain is very manageable doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. it certainly doesnt feel like being drawn on by a pen.This. It didn't hurt much at all though shoulders are a pretty painless place to get them. I wanted a large one on my hip but thought I'd start off with a small one on my shoulder. When I went in to get this done I chatted to the receptionist who had loads of tattoos and she said she got an outline done on her hip and cried so that's put me off :P
Start off small and see how you get on.
yeah I have a full sleeve on my left arm. And yes it does hurt. Certain area's are more sensitive then others.
I have two. One on my upper left arm near my shoulder and one on my left bicep. It's a little nervous the first time, but the pain is not as bad as you think (at least in the spots I got mine). My biceps tattoo goes into the inner arm a little and that part kind of hurt, but it's very tolerable. I plan on getting one on my inner arm on my right arm. My tattooist is expensive though so I have to save some cash. Pay the extra cash for a good tattooist. Mine was like $200 bucks each.
BTW, someone mentioned it looks terrible when your older, that's crappy tattooist. And also you can get touch ups on them. My tattooist does touch ups for tattoos he did free of charge.
I have none atm, but I'd like to get around three: one on my foot, one on the side of my hip and one near my chest-bosom region. I'm not exactly sure what to get yet, but I have several ideas in mind. I'd like to get at least one done this summer.
The cons of getting one is that you are scarred for life... Thats pretty much it. I have one tattoo.
i don't, but i've considered learing it although i'm a little afraid of the possibility of getting some kind of an infecion via the needle.
Don't worry about that, as long as it's a professional and everything is sterile than you will be fine. To stay on topic, it all depends where really. Getting it on your arm will hurt a lot less than getting it on your ribs. To anyone who says it doesn't hurt is just saying that, or maybe they got it in an easy spot. Let them get a huge tat on there ribs and they won't be saying it didn't hurt, cause it freaking kills.i don't, but i've considered learing it although i'm a little afraid of the possibility of getting some kind of an infecion via the needle.
