Just want to hear what some people have to say of their experiences. I just bought tickets to the Comic-Con in Philadelphia and also the "Too Many Games" convention, both in June. I've never been to any sort of convention before, but hopefully these will be a blast.

No, but I'd like to go. If Jason David Frank ever comes to Winnipeg, you can bet your ass I'd be there.

I've been to San Diego comic-con several times, experiences can vary but usually it's full of fat sweaty 40 somethings selling comics and rare toys. Some of the chicks in cosplay aren't a bad sight. Be prepared to be bumped into a lot, there's some very rude people that attend.

It's also pricey, parkings a bitch, the foods bad as well.

I went to PAX East last year and I'm going again this year. Was probably the best vacation I've ever had.

I went to E3 in 1996 when it was in Atlanta. Other than that I pretty much haven't paid too much attention, although I considered going to Comic Con in Austin TX but didn't go because of work.

I attended the San Diego Comic-con for quite a number of years and always had a good time. Lots of very cute girls, lots of stuff to buy, lots of people to meet. Depending on how big your con is and how much time you have, it's always a good thing to keep portable snacks on your person to limit eating breaks and take a large backpack if you plan on heavy shopping.

Yeh went to gamescom a few times, which generally is great, abeit slightly noisy.

apart from that, just small conventions for anime and comicbooks here, which due to the country size also sadly is pretty small. So I could imagine that it would be quite different from comic-con

A few pointers though: it is always nice to have some cleaning napkins (can't remember the precise name of such) due to the relatively high chance of catching something with that many people, food and drink tends to be rather expensive (and often not that good to begin with), and if you have an issue with lots of people in a room then you are doomed.

Apart from that (and depending on the type of convention a backpack due to the suckage of slogging around with bags in both hands) just have fun and enjoy it? The atmosphere tends to be really great, people are quite friendly when they have similar hobbies.
