I notice through the years as I get older I'm getting more nostalgic for certain things most of them are pretty trivial but I can't help get nostalgic for them. I miss certain stores from the past that are gone now like BlockBuster video, Circuit City, Media Play ect. do you have any trivial things that you miss?

I'm a 90's kid and will always get nostalgic over 90's things. All the old (and good) Nickelodeon shows, Pokemon cards, 90's music, etc.

I really really miss playing playing as my mesmer in the original Guild Wars in a solid guild and getting all the big titles with another guy.......great memories, but that's long gone. I miss playing Diablo, Quake, and the first Tomb Raider in 1997, on my PC, my first games. Also Diablo 2 and original Starcraft when they first came out.

I kinda miss the nude bars and strip joints I frequented when I was still single.

I get nostalgic for insanely trivial things like literally specific plant decorations around a path I used to walk and what I would often be thinking about while taking a walk.

its bizzare, I have moved a lot and I dont regret that, but my brain spends a lot of tie replaying habits from places I used to live with high level of detail

Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. Had one where I grew up and it was glorious. Think Chuck E' Cheese with ice cream and burgers. Candy all over the place. They had strips of candy drops running down some of the walls that you could just peel off and eat. Huge bowls of ice cream that could feed a table (kind of unsanitary now that i think about it) and an arcade. Unfortunately there are only 2 left in So-Cal and the one in my area closed long before my son was born. The ice cream place they took Napoleon to in Bill and Ted was probably based on a Farrell's.

Nostalgic? No. My childhood was absolute shit. But going out with my 2yo son and doing fun stuff with him it does hurt that I never got to have positive experiences as a kid. They're still nice now, but it's not the same.

Yeah, I know that feeling there is dead mall I use to go to when I was growing up. I miss the way it looked on a sunny day with the sunlight coming out of the skylight windows it just felt so comforting.

Late at night when I'm a bit buzzed I go to Youtube to look up 80s Saturday morning cartoon theme songs and music from classic anime, so yeah.

Interestingly, ever since I watched Buzzfeeds video about Pokemon card values, I got nostalgic since I didn't own many of them and it played a huge part in my childhood. Ended up spending a fair bit buying old Pokemon cards to add to my existing collection. Always nice to rekindle with childhood favourites, but can get out of hand sometimes...

I've always been the nostalgic type.

Hell, even the cold morning chill reminds me of those days at 5 - 6 am on my grandads old holiday farm.

I miss handdrawn Disney movies from the 90’s and older.

I HATE the CGI animation they have pushed the last 20 years.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked the first Toy Story, but I wish there was a balance of handdrawn and the new stuff.

I do it a lot. I wonder if this means that I'm not happy with my current life and reminisce about the old days instead...

@korvus: I know how you feel, still feel bad about the way I was treated by my dad/brothers growing up. I wasn't sexually molested in any way, but a lot of hard times and lonely days gone by. Not to mention, basically no to little people liked me in school. Mentally/emotionally scared to this day. Sorry for your mistreatment you had. It was better days for you as an adult I'm sure,or so it seems to sound like. You're lucky to have a healthy family. All the Best to you and Family.

Princess and the Frog was the last one I saw that I really enjoyed. That was what 7 years ago?

They have like beer cozies that I get at trade shows that are like two snap bracelets side by side. My kids love them. I throw them at my kids and wife and get them to stick.

With Toys R Us closing down the other day, I had the realization that I'll never be able to shop in one again. For much of my life I didn't care too much for Toys R Us, but as a kid I did want to go there more than my family got to. It doesn't bother me, myself, but then I realized if I ever have a child of my own I can't take them to a Toys R Us store, so they'll never have quite that experience.

Pretty soon we'll be lucky if my hypothetical children can get to experience anything nostalgic from my youth. It's cool that I still see a lot of older cartoons and shows on DVD sets, but there are so many specialty stores and concepts that existed in the last couple of decades that just don't anymore, or don't to the extent that they used to. Times change, I get it. But it would be cool to take my one day hypothetical 9 year old to a Big Boy restaurant, or a shopping mall....or to show them all of the music and things I like from way back when and explain what resonated in that to me.

I'll sometimes get nostalgic about hanging out with my friends as a kid. I still live in the same town so I'll sometimes go for walks by the old school and their houses, just reminiscing.

I admit I still love the 90's because of the cartoons, video games, music and other stuff around that time. However the Internet was shit though.
