Any good free email providers other than Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail?

I want to create a free email address with my name, but it's already taken on Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.

Are there any other popular and secure free email providers that you can recommend? I heard Zoho Mail was free, but when I go to their site, it says that I need to "pay" for a domain in order to get their "free" email.

Be a man and host yourself/google apps and then your @ symbol can be anything you want as long as it's not taken. You will need to pay for a domain though, can vary from 1$-11$ a year.JigglyWiggly_

do this, i used my own mailservers for a while but google apps is just better

aol, mail.com (which is a part of aol), gawab, and mail.ru

I agree that @hotmail doesn't look very good, but everyone is familiar with and uses Gmail.GAMESHARQ

i stick to my own domain or my isp email if i'm using it for business purposes
