I have no big reason why I prefer American comics, I just do.
I'm sure Manga offers the same kind of awesomeness, I just can't get into them.
i love marvel, dc comics and i love naruto, sora no otoshimono, history strongest disciple kenchi. So both, universal power
I just happen to like both American comics and manga; I don't have any specific reasons.well?

Manga, it's much more diverse, and series don't go on into infinity in length.

Hajime no Ippo is one of my all time favorite anime series and manga. You should check the amount chapters done for it, take DBZ time's 2 and multiply it by 4. By the way they are still releasing chapters.

Not saying some manga can't go on for long, but most manga tends to be under 10 year length. Which is a drop in the bucket to DC and marvel series.
I don't read comics anymore. Last time I checked Marvel civil war started. I don't know whats happened after that. Not like I care though.
I don't realy like crossovers that much. I perfer to read batman, then spiderman, then superman, then green arrow, then fantastic four, then X-men etc. Not Marvel Civil War, then Infinate crisis number _____, then marvel zombies, then blackest night... OMG BLACKEST NIGHT WAS SOO **** COMPLICATED IT WAS ANNOYiNGI don't read comics anymore. Last time I checked Marvel civil war started. I don't know whats happened after that. Not like I care though.

Manga. I don't read American comics much, but more often than not they tend to cater to a young audience being teens. I don't mind it because I read shonen mangas like Naruto, but there just seem to be more options for adults when it comes to manga. majadamusThe comics I read are way to mature for teans but to each his own...

I'm not saying there aren't any mature American comics out there. I just think there are more options when it comes to manga. After World War II Japan had to find a cheap way for entertaiment because of the bad economy so manga/anime became a good cheap way of entertaining. It became popular so there were a lot of different types of manga to choose from. It stayed that way.

I don't read either, but manga is more diverse and is marketed to a greater population. American comics are more frequenlty centered around superheroes, it seems.
