What's your thoughts on air fryers?

Thus far tested this one just got on roast potatoes and sausage.

Had mine about 8 months, and love it! I use it for chicken breast, baked (well, air-fried, I guess) potatoes and other entrees. Mine has a rotating basket/cylinder that I use for tater tot.

Air fryers are essentially just mini convection ovens. I think buying one that only does air frying a few years ago was a big trend, but they actually make pretty legit "toaster ovens" these days that double as toasters, ovens, broilers, and air fryers (some even come with an option to steam, too!). I got one for Christmas last year and I don't think I've used my regular big oven since.

But yeah air fryers are pretty great, I just think the "fryer" label is a bit misleading; you're not frying shit with these things, don't kid yourself.

But yeah...convection ovens (aka "air fryers" are pretty great. I wouldn't waste my time or money on something that only air fries though when you can get a fancy toaster oven that does like five things.

Air-fried sausages are amazing, nice crispy skin.

Potatoes was the first thing I tried on mine. I tried to do them English-style where you boil them in alkaline water to get the edges all soft, then you mix them up a bit so the exterior get's coated in a thin layer of starch, then roasted them in the air fryer. Turned out OK but never looks as crispy and good as the ones you see in pictures of "sunday roasts".

@mrbojangles25: Def prefer potatoes stuff done in it.

Hate oven chips and generally homemade stuff with oil tends to end up horrible.

But when made chips and potatoes in with chip super crispy with none of the wetness hate or the typically rock solid oven chips.

Tried some chicken wings but think still prefer the oven.

Air fryers are a gift from heaven. Saves you tons of energy compared to a standalone oven.

Need to oven something small? Use an air fryer!

I love it. Like stuff like chicken nuggets/tenders, fish sticks/fillets, fries, hashbrowns, cheese curds/mozzarella sticks, pizza rolls, etc. in it.

I got a cheap and simple one a couple of years ago. Only airfrying. Nice for fries. Haven't tried it for anything else.

Still it has left me with a really good impression so I'll most likely upgrade in a few years.

We have one, use it a mostly for reheating leftovers but it is great for sausages and chicken breast as well. Cooks it real fast too.

They're too small to make enough for an entire family + leftovers.

I get that. Though obv get diff sized ones.

One got is quite big, checked the whole turkey could fit in it in lol ... but, still opted for oven as I didn't want to risk dying through food poisoning.

Did try these bad boys it in. Think used the wrong setting before, but those were some of the best wings ever had. Perfectly burnt and crisp on the outside.

Got one for Christmas last year and love it. Got me a second one during Christmas sale last month so I can run two at once now. Made some killer asparagus with bacon last week. Air fry a bagel sammich for 6 minutes and it is perfectly toasted and melty. Anything considered microwave food is so much better in an air fryer.

Has anyone tried making pizza in one?
