I like the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series, but it doesn't really focus on good vs evil, magic use, etc that many fantasy stories rely on.

A Song of Ice and Fire is awsome.

Also I know this isn't fantasy (sci fi) but you should also read the Ender series by Orson Scott Card

Magician by Raymond E Feist is the best fantasy ever IMO. Also Stephen Kings Dark Tower series is fantastic.

Funny, because i was just about to reccomend your sig.

My favorite (If you can call it "Fantasy, more of a Sci-Fi, Horror, Drama Western with some Fantasy) is the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King.

Well i recommend the Dark Tower to anyone but since this asked for fantasy (and while DT has a lot of fantasy i think it is to broad to define in a single genre) in particular so i went with asoiaf

Shadowmarch by Tad Williams. Awesome is the only word that describes that book. I'm reading the sequel Shadowplay right now.

Anything by Tery Pratchett, but be warned that it's much lighter than Tolkien.
