[QUOTE="Bucked20"] Ok,Ive come to the conclusion you're just the typical corny em fan that thinks he's the best and the only rapper that talks about real life. He's probably the only rapper you listen to,congrats Bucked20

Actually I really just think 50 sucks, but nice try!

I will say that rap is not my genre, but I in general can at least respect people who are good at it. 50 is not one of those people...

Ā

He's just to trill for uĀ

Still utter trash...

Why don't you like Em? Is it cuz he's white? Most people judge rappers off their lyrics, and you can't say 50 can touch Em on that. If you like some dumb sh*t like "i'll whip yo head boy" over some great lyrics than you not a good judge for what's good rap haha.

I like some of 50's music, but I don't think he - himself - is legendary, but his debut and the hype around it are. Eminem is a legend.

Nas is a legend. KRS is a legend. Rakim is a legend. Big L is a legend. Wu-Tang are legends. 50 is not a legend. I would say Kendrick Lamar is probably the next legend in the making. The list is very small, and 50 doesn't fit.

Being a sick lyricist isn't the only thing that makes someone's music good. Aesop Rock and Eyedea will embarass the fvck outta your favorite rapper, but no one wants to hear guys spit 64 bars about how the mind percieves the outside world or rogue vocoder blitzes..

GRODT is a good album, maybe not a classic but it's fun.. Some people take parts of rap too seriously without appreciating other aspects of it, get over yourself.

I used to like this ablum a lot in 7th grade...... then i grew up. I know i sound like most of the ignorant rap haters here but i actually did like this album a lot back in the day. I just grew out of the rap genre (i still listen to a tiny portion of what i consider good rap).

Yea being a great lyricist isn't everything, but i'm sayin it's usually how a rapper is judged at the end of the day. 50 decent, but no way is or ever was a great rapper.

And yea GRODT was a pretty good album i'm not gonna lie. Had good production. But  at it being a classic like TC say though.

He's a good hip hop artist maybe, and yeah some of his songs get me pumped up. But as an MC he's no where near the best I think. Out of the well known MC Nas kills him, and as my signature would tell, I also think MF DOOM just destroys just about everyone on the mic. Just me though.

I see him as a great entertainer, much like Kanye West. But the best rapper of all time is a bit of a stretch.Ā

Nas at his best vs. Jay at his best would be tough but overall throughout their careers Jay has rapped better and been more consistent. MF DOOM I like his beats and all but he hasn't stayed relevant long enough and lacks the impact of both Nas and especially Jay-Z. If I were talking about strictly lyricism and skills on the mic it'd be between Jay-Z, Royce da 5'9, Masta Ace, and Eminem.

I remember bootleg copies of GRoDT selling for $10 it was crazy when 50 cent dropped his album. everyone wasn't familiar with pirating music. people were fiending for gangsta rap. dre and em put him on. and album wasn't a let down, yeah it was the perfect storm, doubt any rap album can do that again

DOOM and Madlib dropped Madvillainy, best album in hip hop history mayn. But yeah as of late not much stuff has come out, but that's mostly because America is kinda stopping him from finishing his next Madvillainy project.Ā

DOOM and Madlib dropped Madvillainy, best album in hip hop history mayn. But yeah as of late not much stuff has come out, but that's mostly because America is kinda stopping him from finishing his next Madvillainy project.Ā

Never liked Em that much, and as of late he's made some terrible terrible stuff. "I'm not afraid" makes me cry at how bad he's become.Ā

Detox 2 going to release before Madvillainy 2. :P But yeah, I need to listen to more DOOM. I know recently he had that whole thing where he sent imposters to his concerts to perform lol funny stuff.

Well Madvillainy 2 is kinda out if you count the remix album by Madlib Ā :P

Oh god I hate that imposter stuff. Some of his more stupid fans defend it saying it's part of his "villanous act". Ā

They probably are the ones who never go to the concerts and just get the songs of piratebay and get their music taste from the internet though. For me, it was really dissapointing to hear that. He did come perform for real down here though. Rhimestone Cowboy was epic live

Jay's been more consistent? Reasonable Doubt to Blueprint 3 is like a 180 homie. Illmatic to Life is Good, Nas has an epic discography. Nas is top three. Jay is top fifteen. If Jay had remained on the path of churning out music similar to Reasonable Doubt, then there's no question in my mind he could've been the GOAT. Dude's flow is unparalleled.

One word on Nas' career before the Blueprint and Takeover diss, Nastradamus. Jay-Z released Blueprint and Black Album between Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint 3. Nas' career was freefalling after Illmatic, and It was Written was a great album looking in retrospect, but people wanted another Illmatic at the time. Unfortunately, no one will ever drop another Illmatic. Eminem arguably dropped three classic albums in a row before he had drug issues. Your assertion that Jay-Z could've been GOAT if he released albums of the same caliber as Reasonable Doubt. The problem is, he already did.
