suggestions of hip hop artists/groups heavily influenced by jazz?

im looking to discover more hip hop artists/groups that are heavily based on created/samples of jazz tunes.

i guess something along the lines of the work of pete rock, guru, the roots, etc(not sure if those are the best examples, but u know what i mean)

all suggestions will be much appreciated!


ill probably also post this on the OT forums to see what other outside opinions i get from fans that dont go on this board.

Both Digable Planets albums.

These two bad boys:

The Low End Theory of course. And also Gang Starr's Step In the Arena and Daily Operation.

Also check some Artifacts.

And doesn't Madlib dabble in the Jazz a lot too?

Yeah and his Shades of Blue album was made on the Blue Note label and samples nothing but the old Blue Note artists. He's also got that "Jazz Cats Pt. 1" song on the Unseen where he talks about a lot of jazz cats that influenced him.
