I'm pissed. Ok, so I travel from South Houston to Dallas, what originally would've been a 4 hour trip, took us 32 hours. It was the most boring, upsetting moment of my whole life. AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, THE DAMN HURRICANE DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH MY CITY.
I took my truck (recently got some 20's sonn) with my brother. And my dad, mom, and grandparents drove in another car, and a friend of mine drove in a car, and his family drove in another car. It started off fine, that was until we hit the 610 loop and we were bumper to bumper for around 8 hours until we got actually out of Houston. Just when I thought it was all over, I45 was even worse. We drove for the rest of the 20+ hours bumper to bumper for the rest of the time.
I was so stressed, that I decided to ditch my parents, and cut ahead of everyone on the shoulder. (hey, a few people were doing it).. So I called my friend, saying "dude let's ditch our fam and just cut ahead of these ho's"... so him and I pulled out to the shoulder and went about 60 mph on it getting honked and yelled at by people on the driving lanes, getting insulted with people yelling "cheaters!". Ok, whatever, it was all good until I saw some jakes roll up behind me and flashing his sirens. FVCK! ... he told both my friend and I "listen gentlemen, I know that this whole situation is very upsetting, but please quit driving on the shoulder".. whew, nothing happened thankfully. Just a little warning.
Jesus christ, so after that crazy moment, it was around 3:00 AM and everyone was half asleep. On 45, we saw some folks parked on the shoulder showing off the sound system they have in their ride. So I decided to join them, meet a few new people and such. Everyone at the little hang out was bumping all this dumb Swishahouse ish like Paul Wall and Mike Jones... So I just turned up what was simply already playing in my ride, and it happened to be One Be Lo - "Axis" ... after getting insulted by all these hardcore thugs claiming the music I was bumping was "gay", I was just like "whatever" and left. They were too hardcore for me... plus my ride ain't no where near the luxury of theirs.
Oh, and I'll add that every gas station was out of gas. I had to fill up my truck with this big gas truck I found. And we also didn't sleep at all, and my leg hurts from pressing and letting go of the breaks too much. 32 hours of straight driving without any sleep. Try that
Finally, made it to Dallas, blah blah blah, stayed at a hotel. I was pissed to figure out after spending 32 hours on the road evacuating from what was claimed to be "the biggest hurricane of all time" just turned out to be nothing. I came back to not even find a scratch on my house, or a drop of rain at my drive way. Never trust the weather service... Even if our area did get hit badly, I'd still rather live without power for a day than evacuating out of the 4th largest city in America, along with millions of people trying to get out of the biggest evacuation in American history.
The end
