Outgoing Gov. Jon Corzine is expected to sign legislation before leaving office next week making New Jersey the nation's 14th state to legalize medical marijuana.
Legislators approved a law Monday allowing chronically ill patients to buy up to 2 ounces of pot a month at state-monitored dispensaries.
"I don't think we should make criminals out of our very sick and terminally ill," said Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D-Princeton), co-sponsor of the bill.
Corzine, who supports the legislation, is expected to sign it into law before turning over power to incoming Republican Gov. Chris Christie, a former federal prosecutor who has voiced concerns over the bill.
The law authorizes the state Department of Health to issue patients with "debilitating medical conditions" like cancer or AIDS the right to legally possess marijuana.
Unlike other states where medical marijuana is legalized, patients will not be allowed to grow their own.

Vancouver is gorgeous, it's a nice city, small I guess with about 2 million people (Compared to other metropolis's) but most of Vancouver is great. Lots of crime in the suburbs and parts of down town, nothing out of the usual. People get stabbed, gun shot murders are rare happening only during drug wars (Had one in January of last year)...
Other then that it's awesome, lots of great stuff to do here but it's really expensive.Â

lol crime is something im not worried about. i live in the suburms of a place called Inland Empire whcih is a group of about 6 cities put together. it is also one of the meth capitols of the world, so basically live around a HUGE amount of drug dealers and junkies and yes a lot of stuff goes down here. basically wut im trying to say is almost anywhere i got will have less crime than here.
but im glad to hear that BC is a cool place, i might visit this summer

You'll have no trouble here then. The most anyone should worry about is random attacks which happen often in the Surrey, Delta, Metrotown area...Other then that you're good. You'll like it here.
I mean it's not common to get attacked but there's been stories of people who just mind their business and someone picks a fight with them, etc. I don't worry about it but you have to mention it.Â
