Thoughts?

A lot of gay rappers are making music & coming out these days. Le1f's "Dark York," mixtape is the biggest one i've seen thus far, getting p4k recognition. I'm not against gay rappers by any means, but I have to admit it's a bit awkward listening to this Le1f record and not feeling a bit uneasy.

Couldn't care less what a rapper's sexuality is. I get more uneasy from hearing homophobic lyrics.

I'll take your 'omosexual rapper and raise you a trasngender one.

My only experience with homosexuality and rap was seeing Big Freedia at SXSW '11. It was one of the better shows I saw that year. It got super live during her set. She had booty dancers on stage and really hyped the crowd up. I would go see her or him again, although I only saw her because OF was right after. I had never heard of her before that.

Call me naive but I don't think it's a marketing ploy. His tumblr post sounded pretty real to me. FWIW I think he's bi and not just homosexual.

Didn't watch (but did listen to) the whole thing, but what I saw of it was actually a bit less homoerotic than a lot of rap videos. :lol:
