Besides Bone Thugs, Cam'ron and other well-known rappers/groups.... what good artists are there from the Midwest?

And what about the Bay Area? I know about The Pack/Lil B and maybe 10 other rappers from that area, but not a whole lot of them...  And I haven't found myself really liking a lot of the music from those that I know about, so maybe you guys can point me in the direction of some of the ones you like.

The Jacka - The Jack Artist ---- "Blind World"
Husalah - Huslin Since da 80's ---- "Husalah Shine"
Cellski - Mr. Predictor ---- "Stressed Out"
Dre Dog - I Hate You With a Passion ---- "Situation Critical"
The Coup - Genocide & Juice ---- "Taken These"
Souls of Mischief - 93 Til Infinity ---- "Never No More"
Casual - Fear Itself ---- "I Didn't Mean To"
3X Krazy - Stackin Chips ---- "Keep It On the Real"
Mac Mall - Illegal Business ---- "Sic Wit Tis"

There's some Bay recommendations. I know you've listened to J Stalin - Gas Nation and I assume you know about E-40 and Mac Dre already.

For the Midwest, listen to Twista - Adrenaline Rush and No ID - Accept Your Own & Be Yourself if you haven't. They are both well known names for working with Kanye and Jay nowadays so you may have heard their earlier stuff already. And check out Hi-Tek's early stuff with Mood. Mood - "Hustle on the Side"

For more recent stuff check out Danny Brown who is from Detroit: Danny Brown - "Nowhere 2 Go"

edit:

forgot One Be Lo was from Michigan so add Binary Star - "Masters of the Universe" and One Be Lo - "S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M." to the list.  One Be Lo - "Decepticons"

Awesome lists a_ratchet_fan. I've been looking to get into bay area music for a while but I only knew of a few artists and didn't know where else to start.

I'm kind of interested in some of the more unknown rappers from the Midwest. Who is from Wisconsin? Nebraska? Kansas City? I know there's a scene in all these places if rappers like Coo Coo Cal can make it onto MTV.

Also slipped my mind but 2/3 of Tanya Morgan is from Cincinnati (Von Pea is from BK), hence Brooklynati.

And Ampichino is from Ohio. If you listen to either of the Devilz Rejectz albums you'll be knocking out Bay Area and Midwest in one listen.

 ^True

Here's some of the lesser known midwest rappers I know of, 90's and present:

Rich The Factor

Rappin Twon

Bohn

Makin Illa Noize

Crucial Conflict

Speedknot Mobstaz

E.C. Illa

Boi Big

Ampichino

Young Bossi

Shoboat

Freddie Gibbs

Assault AKA Baby Swolts

Fat Tone

Gank Move

Rubberoom

KC has the largest scene but it sounds more like a cross between the Bay and the South than Chicago or Detroit

Yeah I know about EC Illa.

EC Illa - "On Ill"
EC Illa - "What You Be About"

also from Chicago

Psychodrama - "Magic"
All Natural - "50 Years"
D to tha S - "Doomsday"
DA Smart - "Go To War"
D.V.S. - "Killanoize"

and Hasheesh's favorite MC Vakill as well

Vakill - "Serpent and the Rainbow"

we should try knocking out all these major cities. Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and I'd love to hear some stuff from Wisconsin and those other less talked about areas.

Check out MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) he is from Cleveland and is a decent rapper I don't really listen to him that much anymore but you might like him, same to the others on the board.
