but even these new versions have the same functions as the older version. so it's just a bonus to get the new version, backlight, smaller, cuter, slimmer etc.

uhh no, but then again I didn't camp out to begin with. I doubt they would release another version anyways. I mean yes they talked about the one that owuld play dvds too, but frankly I coudl care less about that.

I don't see this happening besides coming out with new colors. What else could they add besides a DVD player? And who really doesn't have a DVD player by now? It's not like they can make it any smaller. Any smaller, and the disc won't fit.
I didn't even bother upgrading to the GBA SP, or the DS Lite so no way in hell would I buy another Wii.
This is why I am waiting a while until I buy a Wii, also it's still a bit hard finding one here in the UK. I am sure that there will be a Wii + DVD released in Japan. Another Panasonic Q thing but not for the rest of us. Everyone else is always second or in Europe third place.
