Wii U compatible headsets

Does anyone know if there are cheap Wii U headsets? I really don't want to spend $30 or more on something I won't use that often. Has anyone tried any generic headsets to see if they work? I'm not really into voice chat that much but it would be nice to have one in case the situation arises.

You can always get the AfterGlow Universal Gaming Headset that works on everything from Wii U to PC. You can get it wired for 59.99 and wireless for 89.99 but the ability to use it on everything really is worth the price and the sound and microphone is excellent.

I bought a $15 dollar pair of Skullcandy earbuds that come with a mic. Works with BLOPS II at least.
