No, they are usualy a quickly made piece of crap.

The gameplay is unthought of. The grafics are weak. The game is buggy. They're made in a hurry to come out with the movie. I've sort of enjoyed one. It was Eragon but it wasn't great.

What game did you like that came from a movie?

Well they are always quickly made, unless it's the star wars games which were okay.

Whats worse are movies based on games. Never works. Ever.

There are only 2 movie-based games I've ever enjoyed playing: Goldneye 007 and Chronicles of Riddick.

Other than those two, I just pass by all the other movie tie-ins found in store game sections as if they didn't exist. They're not even worth a glance.

This topic seems wrong. Shouldn't the question be who likes movie based games. I can't even think of a single good one.

I absolutely ahte them. They're just slapped on in a day, have MASS glitches, boring gameplay, terrible graphics and are very short. There's also no surprise in them cuz they're based on the movie. I think they're a waste of time, money, and gaming

Well, I don't. If they made something after the film release so it could go in to the plot better, and be better made, then I think they could have something. But for now it's a cheap cash in.

There's a lot of great games that are a ton of fun that came from movies.

Riddick and Spider-Man has already been said

The Simpson game that came out the same time as the movie was fun, so was the Transformers game that came on the DS

If you want to go all over the place Chicken Little Ace In Action for the Wii was a very nice Ratchet and Clanky type game and then Cars was also good.

Heck, one of the greatest games of all time was connected to a movie.

Super Mario Bros 3

Exactly! Slap a name on a box and you got 100,000 copies sold.

I typically make it a practice to not buy any games that are directly based on a movie. Usually isn't worth the consideration.

Goldeneye 007. That was the one and only for me. I'm sure many of you would agree.

Nothing else comes to mind.

Same, I thought it was decent, if not worth the money I paid for it :| Still an enjoyable experience. The funny thing is, even though all of these movie games are based on books/movies, the plot is always cut in half, which is half of every good source of novel/film...

they are usually just cash-ins since the developers are zetta confident that the game will sell well even if it is riddled with crappy gameplay/graphics etc etc

I don't. They are usually poor standard games with the following problems:

Weak graphics

Shallow plot

Repetive tasks

Bad value

Poor voice acting

Thats why I don't usually buy them8)

I agree with the above post on the name. Also I think games based on movies usually arn't that good, one exception imo would be the lord of the kings the return of the king.

most of them suck a LOT. They're just cheap games made because people buy them if they liked the movie.

If ANY of them were realeased with a bunch of generic characters instead of the movie ones, the games would never sell.

the developers are zetta confident Arclight_Blue

Great reference. Anyways, the developers have no reason to make them good. The people who are going to buy them will normally buy them anyways just because they are fans of the movie. People who buy them if they are good are just extra cash to the makers. Also because of the deadline for release of the movie, developers aren't given as much time to be Hideo Kojima for a game. They have no reason nor time to make a game a true gem it seems.

Goldeneye and Riddick are amazing games.

Some of the Lord of the Rings, Spider Man, and Star Wars games are very good too.

the main problem is allway that you can't convert a 2 hour movie in a good game respecting the story. and the fact that the persons that are responsable for the marketing of the game prefear that the people buy they (half made)games right after seeing the movie than risk to bring the game to late to profit from the hype of the movie.
