Pokemon fans in Japan will soon get to visit a real-world Pokemon Gym. The gym, which its creator Sanoyas Interaction is calling a "hands-on edutainment facility," will open in Osaka on November 19.

It's called the Pokemon Expo Gym. According to an Inside Games report (translated by Siliconera), fans can battle and trade with others and play Pokemon arcade "training" games. These games, including "Charizard's Battle Colosseum" and "Gardevoir's Control Score," will even hand on rewards to players in the form of in-game items for mainline installments such as Pokemon X/Y and Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby.

If you could visit a real-world Pokemon gym what type would you specialize in? Let us know!

I never cared for pokemon as a kid. Recently bought my daughter a training deck and I quite liked playing it with her. I have started building a dark deck, may make it a dark/metal deck. I still don't really think the whole idea of pokemon is very interesting and most of the creatures are kind of dumb... I just like the game. I considered looking for an alternative with a theme better suited to my tastes but seeing as my daughter and wife are into pokemon it seemed more reasonable to just get the thing they will want to play.

Have you watched the Pokemon animes with them? They are fun to watch together and add this immersive layer to the game. I would recommend some of the current seasons.

I watched a bit of the original one when I was a kid but mostly when there was just nothing else on, I didn't really like it then. Perhaps I will try and watch the xy series with my daughter... she was asking for the DVD at the store the other day and her birthday is coming up soon.

Is Gyarados classed as a dragon type? I thought it was more water type.

But anyway, I voted for dragon because Gyarados has always been my favourite Pokemon & you guys classed it as dragon.

The gyarados card I have is a water type, that doesn't mean there isn't a dragon type gyarados card though. I have come across several with cards in a few different types.
