It isn't my favourite, but Mario Kart DS certainly gets a ton of play in my rotation of DS games. Especailly now that my girlfriend has her own copy of the game to play against.
Right now though, I would have to say Front Mission is stealing MK and my other DS games spotlight all for itself.
Haven't played any new games for a while, but Resident Evil: Deadly Silence is currently my favourite. Long, challenging game with lots of puzzles.
I don't know about my favorite, but I definately had the most fun with Mario Kart DS playing with my friends (And Wi-Fi).
That was before people figured out Snaking.
Before it was Metroid PH but now Chinatiown wars is getting a lot of attention.
There are other classics like Phoenix Wright, and Layton.
Off topic, but please read and comment:
Imagine a "Watchmen DS" game. You play as Rorschach going around in New York and investigating/brutally punishing crimes.
It would play like a free-roaming adventure game. You would view Rorschach top-down in 3D (GTA:CW style) and on the bottom screen dialouge would play out in comic strips unlikely but hopefully written by Alan Moore and drawn by Dave Gibbons.
While it would be mostly adventure, there would be action/stealth parts when you have tracked down a suspect or guilty. The camera would then show Rorschach like splinter cell. these parts would be closed-off levels set in alleys or buildings or something. You needed to scare your suspect/guilty and beat him/her up.
There would maybe be guard dogs like in the graphic novel, which when killed gave Rorschach more "Rorschachness".
Now, If you felt like it, you could brutally murder the guilty in many creative ways using the DS touch screen.
The rorschach journal could be used to replay the stealth-action sequences.
I loved and read the graphic novel, and this would maybe be wrong, but interesting nonetheless.
I only played Mario Party DS, Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros., Pokemon Platinum, and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
I would say it is a tie between Platinum and Shadow Dragon.
