What if I can't see the 3D on the 3DS...I mean yeah I know too bad, but do you think most people will be able to? I haven't been able to see it with any of the examples except for that dinosaur GIF. I mean like, I haven't succeeded at the cross your eyes stuff...

yea its been a concern of mine too- but dont judge just from looking at your pc screen. go to a store when it comes out, and try it out there. if you dont experience 3D, dont get it.

You will unless you have an eye problem. Don't judge it from your computer screen. It is not 3D, thus it will not show 3D.

I haven't been able to see any of the 3D pictures that people have been posting either. Stupid cross-eyed nonsense. :(

I haven't watched a 3D movie before either.

Anyway, i'm confident that i'll able to see the 3D just fine on the 3DS. Considering I can just look at the screen naturally without having to cross my eyes, I'm sure it'll work just fine.

But if for some tragic reason i'm not able to see the 3D, i'll just sit there and cry staring at my 2D 3DS after I unbox it.

There is, yeah. You see there are several cues for depth perception. 3D displays are able to fool the most critical of these: Our stereo vision. However it still doesn't trick what is possibly the second most important: accommodation (focusing) of the eye. Meaning that regardless of how close or how far should be, the eyes are always focused on the same flat surface of the display. For most people that isn't a problem. But for a few it's enough that the 3D image fails to come together in their brain.

The thing is you need two functional eyes (lol) for the 3D effect on 3DS to work.

Oh and people with astigmatism can't experience the 3D effect, but I'm sure you can fix their vision with special glasses.

Basically, if your eyes aren't f'ed up, you can see the 3D effect.

Yup, I'm 3D blind. but there's a possibility to just play in 2D with 3DS, so no worries.

I'm almost blind on my right eye so I'm certain I can't see the 3D.

Good thing they added that slider.

TC I wouldn't be too concerned about those pictures, from my experience, most people cant see a 3D effect from those. If I'm reading into the 3DS correctly, it sounds like basically they are using two screens to do what the old red and blue 3D glasses do. So if you can see 3D with those glasses, you should be able to see it on the 3DS. If not, well obviously, your eyes are not sensitive to that effect because your brain doesn't work lol.

The 3ds isn't a friggin' stereogram. You'll all see it if you have 2 eyes.

I'm not completely sure I'll be able to see the 3D effect.....although I can sort of see the 3D on those cross-your-eyes Youtube videos. My vision is probably 20/60. Not sure if I can see it or not. It's been a few years since I've been to see a 3D movie. Maybe I'll go see Toy Story 3 to test it.

But even if I can't, I'll probably wind up getting the 3DS for the higher resolution, the movies that they say it will play, and the motion-control features.

Wow. Honestly I didn't know that there is such as thing as 3D blind. Well hopefully you will be able to see it. And that's why we have the 3D slider to control the 3D depth and will adjust to your eyes.

Some people can see 3D but it gives them some trouble. I know after I finished watching Avatar, when I went back outside I got a splitting headache that lasted all day. My gf says that she can't make it through a 3D movie because she either get a massive heachache or get motion sickness.

I'm wondering if the 3D effects will work when there's a glare on the screen. I like to play my DS when going places and theres always a glare when I'm in the car/bus. I guess I could just turn the 3D off...

I'm also wondering if screen protectors will work with the 3DS.

Or just get it and dont use 3d :P. 3D is cool but its not why I am buying the 3DS.

dont feel bad about stereograms TC. i used to get so pissed off when kids used to order Magic Eye off of book orders when we were in elementary school, and i could NOT see the hidden images for the life of me. that used to make me so mad haha.
