Silent Hill Shattered Memories,or Ju On The Grudge.

I'd also suggest Project Zero 2 Wii Edition, but only if you live outside N.America.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories,or Ju On The Grudge.

GreekGameManiac

Neither of these are good horror games. I wouldn't even consider them good games at all. Shattered Memories is downright comical in a lot of ways. Then again the TC seems to consider Dead Rising a horror game, so...

It's better on PS2 since it doesn't use motion controls. It's still not a good game though.

You're an idiot. the game wasn't meant as pure horror. It was more intended to be unsettling, similar to silent Hill 2. The story is incredible and amazing, and the music alone is worth the price of admission.

Silent Hill SM isn;t very scary but it is very atmospheric and definitely worth playing if you want a great story.

Avoid the Resi and Dead Space games. Railshooters = not scary. Dead Rising isn't horror either btw, more action/survival. Silent Hill Shattered Memories and Cursed Mountain are your best bets.

On rail games are good fun and even best investments than Cursed Mountain, due replay value. I don't think they should be avoided at all. Depending on your game style and how do you like to enjoy these "scary" moments In that same vein you can actually enjoy games like Obscure 2 and even Bug Island. I know those are not top titles but I actually had a good time while they lasted

Not to say they are bad, just you can't really be scared when the game is controlling everything for you and you are blast blast blasting away like a madman!

Silent Hill Shattered Memories is the only worthwhile horror game I've played on Wii. And it's more of a psychological thriller than pure horror.

I never said it was.
It was more intended to be unsettling
Which it wasn't. At all. Its attempts to be unsettling come off as comical more often than not.
The story is incredible and amazing
The story is hamfisted, uninteresting, and poorly put together.
and the music alone is worth the price of admission.
No it isn't, since it sounds like Akira Yamaoka just phoned it in. Campared to previous Silent Hill games there's not a single memorable track.

Silent Hill SM isn;t very scary but it is very atmospheric and definitely worth playing if you want a great story.

It really isn't worth playing.

I guess I prefer my psychological horror games to be a bit more subtle and unsettling than literally having me bubble in answers in order to "get into my mind", and have scares that consist of more than being chased by unscary pink people that hug me sometimes while I run through a maze listening to them play really awful tinny sounding scream sounds that sound like they came from a royalty free sound library. Then if I'm lucky an incredibly blocky shadow girl will stomp across the screen screaming in some contrived, sad attempt at a jump scare.

Well, ok. No need to start an argument here... They are just games, and Dead Rising is really fun, i also played Silent Hill Shattered Memories for PSP before, and the ending sucked :x but it had its moments.

Well you're acting like it's a horror game when it really isn't horror. Maybe more of a thriller, but after seeing the ending there's no good way to classify it. The atmosphere was pretty unsettling, with all the invisible stuff around and learning about what happened and where. The story is great in the same sense of silent Hill 2. It's highly symbolic and metaphorical, being opened to different interpretations about whether or not the events of the game are real or imaginary and peicing together Harry's relationship with his daughter. If you take time to think about it, the story is incredibly deep; not ebcause of the plot of the game but because of all the udnerlying meanings and symbols and psychology. And the music was great. It was highly atmospheric, jsut as it should be, especially during nightmares. And the lyrical ones are jsut fantastic, definitely ipod worthy.

It was marketed as horror.
Maybe more of a thriller
It isn't very thrilling.
but after seeing the ending there's no good way to classify it.
How about as a comedy? My favorite part was when the game had me doing pelvic thrusts to make Harry scoot his wheelchair through a hospital as fast as possible before flying it off a flight of stairs and landing on his face.
The atmosphere was pretty unsettling, with all the invisible stuff around and learning about what happened and where.
I didn't find it unsettling, I found it rather boring and uncreative.
The story is great in the same sense of silent Hill 2.
Ugh, no.
It's highly symbolic and metaphorical, being opened to different interpretations about whether or not the events of the game are real or imaginary and peicing together Harry's relationship with his daughter. I found none of this particularly deep and interesting. All of the symbolism and psychology are incredibly obvious and skin deep. They basically set themselves up for simplicity by having that f*cking psychiatrist character spoon feed any psychology and hidden messages to you before each chapter of the game.
And the music was great. It was highly atmospheric, jsut as it should be, especially during nightmares. And the lyrical ones are jsut fantastic, definitely ipod worthy.turtlethetaffer

I don't remember any of them, unlike previous SH games.
