Yeah my guess would also be that they don't want to steal any of Dragon Quest IX's thunder quite yet. Though X has recently been reconfirmed to be in development for the Wii. Hopefully we hear more news about it soon, along with the localization of VI for DS.

Oh it has? nice I am glad to hear this. That being said, I am more hyped for The Last Story. Both better come to NA.
Um, because it's not really big outside of Japan. I know with many of my friends, it's like "dragon quest? what?" and to be honest, I still feel much the same way, even after playing DQ8 on PS2 (albeit a rental).
