I'm usually very careful with my things, especially my games. I didn't see my DS was folded under my coat and I yanked it off the table...The DS flew into the air and I cringed as it slammed the ground :| The screens all blurry and it's missing some pieces. Looks like I have a trip to gamestop tomorrow morning.

Dude, sorry to hear that. That really sucks and I know if it happened to me I'd feel terrible. Just the other day my copy of Hotel Dusk was shipped here earlier than expected. It ended up in the middle of my driveway with holes through the case, completely out of the packaging. I wasn't thinking when ordering that night and my dogs are very efficient at ripping apart my packages. Luckily the game works as I tried it on my friends DS while still waiting for mine to ship. Just waiting for my DS among other things and hope everything turns out well for you.
i know how you feel trust me, after accidentally putting my ds in the washer, i lost the will to live, everything just seemed darker, until the angels at nintendo came flying down and gave me another one =D. i cringe everytime i read these broken ds stories....i think i love my ds too much...
DS Lites are still hard to find nearly two months after Christmas?! Wow, you'd figure Nintendo would quickly stock them back up, but who can blame them for their insane popularity? :P
If you can't find one in the stores, try www.nowinstock.net. That's how I was finally able to get one in my first color choice, Onyx. A few local stores got some pink ones in this week, their first since before Christmas. Good luck!

does it still have the one year warranty form nintendo. if not sure, check it first with nintendo, and if it does, just return it to nintendo, and they will replace it for free.
I'm so sorry for you and I hope things will turn out for the better. I know how you must feel.
Around when the fatty DS was new, I got one for Christmas and was really excited. I was younger and much more careless at the time, and so I carried the DS in the pocket of my hoodie. When I was doing laundry, I hadn't realized it, but the DS was still in the pocket of my hoodie, and as I put it in the clothes washing machine, I heard a loud clunk. I took it out and panicked. That's what I realized it was the end for my fatty DS. I didn't even get a new one until Christmas last year.
But at least it's taught me to be careful with my belongings. I learned a valuable lesson from that traumatic event.
