Well the pokemon are already on the game cards for when you save. But if you are talking about trading to the other games, I believe you can just migrate them in the Pal Park if I remember correctly
Hardware won't impact Pokemon trades.

Thats what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure what was really being asked, just gave some information, to be helpful
there has to be a game to transfer them to first
Cruse34
He has heartgold and platinum, so migrating would work
The 3DS plays DS games like a regular DS would. That means you can freely trade and battle between all the Gen 4 games like Platinum and HeartGold.
If we're talking Black/White, it doesn't matter whether you use DS or 3DS, you'll only be able to transfer from Gen 4 to Black/White (similar to Pal Park).
So... will the 3DS be able to link up with DS models for trading, battling, etc or will it work like GBA to DS where they had to be migrated only? I find the latter option odd only because these are DS compatible games as well. Wrecked69
I am guessing they will be the same.. I heard that they will have to be migrated (like from Heartgold to Black or Heartgold to Platinum) Seeing how the 3DS has no GBA slot, you would have to do a 3 step phase I am guessing to get pokemon on it. So Firered to Heartgold to Black. But the question is, what if they put Blue/red and or yellow on the e-shop? How would that work?
Ah I see, thanksThe 3DS plays DS games like a regular DS would. That means you can freely trade and battle between all the Gen 4 games like Platinum and HeartGold.
