The Smash Bros. Brawl thread (now with poll!)

This...THIS IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK!!! Man , I have been so zapped for energy all this week(Waiting to get out of school for summer...), This trailer has just awaked my love for Nintendo and maybe it's given me energy to do this stupid research for my final project!!!!

YES!!!  I'M SO HAPPY!!!!  They couldn't have made this better!  All the new characters are exactly what I was hoping for...  plus Solid Snake...  SO MUCH MORE than I was hoping for!  This is as good as the Zelda announcement, except even better, because we'd all given up on it!  Kudos to Nintendo for managing to make the game that everyone expected a surprise.evchoate999

Awesome choices for first party charaters

The inclusion of flagship third party characters is awesome too (lets see some sonic and megaman)

Posted this in its own thread, but thought it should go in the official SSBB thread as well, so.....:


I had an idea before SSBM came out, that each character should have a special attack when the acquire an item or maybe have a meter next to there percent damage that when full can activate a special. I just thought that would be a cool way to innovate the series and when watching the SSBB video i noticed mario pick up an item that resembled the SSB cirular/cross thingy emblem and he had a aura around him and then pulled off a huge combo (Watch the vid) also link does the same thing with a big slashing combo in the air, kinda like the final scene in FF VII: Advent Children except it had a little triforce flashing. Samus also seems to have a huge charge shot that he unloads on Metaknight. Do you guys think i'm onto something? I think it would be cool if they added special moves to the series, kinda like Powerstone on the DC.

Could be onto something, but you need to change that bolded word to "she" because Samus is a female.  Reading your posts, it could very well be a possibility, def sounds awesome.

anyone else think that Knuckles would be better than Sonic? (Knuckles is more of a fighter)

Sakurai said the decision to include Solid Snake when Hideo Kojima himself practically "begged" to include the Metal Gear character in the last Smash Bros. game. When asked about the possibility of Sonic the Hedgehog appearing in the game as well, Shigeru Miyamoto said: "There are probably possibilities for other third parties as well, and it maybe that even now there are corporate discussions going on about including some of these other characters."

Then the subject turned to Solid Snake's role in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. After commenting it was a good question, Sakurai said he thought long and hard on how to fit Snake in, since he's usually armed with a gun. Sakurai said he doesn't want to incorporate real weapons in game, but if the characters used rocket launchers or other explosives it might be funny. He also said Snake will use his infamous cardboard box in the game.

wow, i just got home from going out to find this!!!!! i was shocked!!! and solid snake!!??? AWESOME!!! i Really and Truly can't wait for this one, but i guess i'll have to!!

Why do you doubt it? Mario's attack was seriously overpowered, and Links looked like it was as well, if it was a one time use power-up, that would balance things out a decent amount.

I'm still hoping for an Advance Wars character to be included though.

Personally I would love to play him. He looked wicked in the trailer.
Kirby is one of my favorites in SSBM and I like the series on the portables.. So perhaps it is because I know Meta Knight better from the series..

i honestly can not wait every minute that goes by i cannot think about anything else o boy what am i gonna do to pass the time............. i am screwed

i love how now they have 'super special attacks'. notice in the video how mario unleashes a huge blast as does samus too (i bet to swich between reg and zero suit it will be just like zelda/sheik) wario's special move, apparently, is a massive fart (im so gonna kick his ass as metaknight or samus) and link's badass super slash triforce attack looked cooler than cool. also i loved the one kirby does when he cooks his oppenents in the big pot straight from his old game. have yall ever seen the first episode of futurama where fry slips into the machine that freezes him for a certain amount of time, well i want one of those to freeze me until this damn game comes out

i would looove to see a few more metroid characters in the game myself. it would really own to be able to play with a space pirate for instance...

oh well, gonna have to wait till 2007 :(
