Ok I think it's been answered, but to be more clear...
Uxie and Azelf you can simply walk up to and catch. Mespirit constantly runs from you and unless you throw a masterball or make it unable to escape you cannot capture it. If you KILL and of them, then you cannot capture them.
Since those pokemons are a pain to capture, if you just want those pokemon entries for the national dex/pokeradar there is a trick that you can do without needing to trade/capture.
For uxie and azelf, simply battle them and die, if you do the pokemon will still be there and you have their entries in pokedex.
For mespirit, you just need to see him in the cave, before he start running.

You can catch Mesprit without a master ball (which i'm currently doing) but it's a right pain. I've got it running about with a couple of HP and paralyzed :)
And dude, if you killed one of them that's it. Either start again or trade for them.
actually capturing mesprit with an ultra ball is pretty easy :) the one that was hard to catch was sesielia (or whatever her name was) now she was a pain to catch with an ultra ball (I just don't like using my masterball for some reason :P )
@Tofu: Yeah, I know dude, i just forgot to type that...I caught Mespirit with an Ultra Ball and foolishly used my master ball on Palkia...guys, use your master ball either on Mespirit or Cresselia, IMO, use it on Cressy because shes actually good.
