Switch Friend Codes and Nintendo Accounts Question

Interested in buying a few Switch Lite systems in September. We have Nintendo Network IDs that were merged with Nintendo Accounts. The question is when you first set up a Switch does it auto generate the 12 digit code or is the 12 digit code generated after you link a Nintendo Account? Curious to know if the Switch friend code is locked to the Nintendo Account or the system itself. You have multiple Switch systems and you link your Nintendo Account to them does the Switch friend code remain the same for all devices?

oh you mean the friend code?

you get a new one of course. the wiiU NNID didnt have friend codes. so obviously you will get a new 12 digit friend code automatically generated. each profile/account you make will have its own friend code. you can have multiple accounts on 1 switch.

or do you mean your account name?

when you first set up a switch it will ask you if you already have an account you can just continue with that. it will carry over your friends you had from the wiiU too. you go to your profile and you can readd all your wiiU friends.

@Coolyfett: You can actually re-generate your code on the Switch. If you decide you want to change it you can, though it might only be doable like once every 24 hours or month or something.
