So once again my Wii is unable to read Super Smash Bros Brawl. It's the same problem that happened back when Brawl came out, my Wii wouldn't read it then either and I had to send it into Nintendo so they could clean my Wii. When I got my Wii back it worked fine, but every once in a while it wouldn't read the disc, I'd have to insert it three or four times sometimes to get it to read. Now, it won't read the disc at all again. I must have inserted the disc about 50 times and nothing. There's no scratches that I can see on the disc, and I've cleaned it over and over again but still nothing. And as soon as I put in any other game it loads right away, all my other games work fine. Is anyone else having this problem again? Does anyone know if there's a cleaning kit or something you can buy for the Wii? I really don't want to have to send in my Wii to Nintendo again, or is that my only option...again?

What the guy above me is saying is that your disc reader is dirty. It's a commonly known problem because Brawl is a dual-layered disc.

You can actually buy this in certain stores, too. Check your local stores to see if they stock it.

I don't have that many stores to look in though, mainly Walmart and Zellers. I already asked EB Games but they don't cary any. If I'm not able to find one would a regular DVD lens cleaner work at all, or will I have to order the lens cleaning kit staright from Nintendo?

I have this problem too, how long did the disk work after the repair? Because I'm thinking of doing that.

Send it in! Thats what Nintendo had me do when mine didn't work. Just make sure you back up everything incase they send you a replacement wii instead.

That's some great advice. Too bad this thread is almost 2 years old...

So here is a question. My Wii will not read any discs. I own SSMB. If I send it to Nintendo citing the SSBB reading error can I get my Wii repaired for free?

Make a new thread instead of reviving an old thread.
