At first I thought it would be another generic commercial, but then I was pleasantly surprised!
November 22nd will be a pretty awesome day with Mario and Zelda having games released on the same day. I am not sure if that is a first, but it probably is.
It will also be the first time the Wii U game of the year and 3DS game of the year are released on the same day too. :P
Notice in the commercial only ONE person is using the Gamepad, everybody else is using WIIMOTES. Like I said, the WiiU is truthfully at the moment a single player console since only ONE gamepad can be used for now. This was The WiiU's biggest mistake especially since they focused soooo heavily on the Gamepad (The WiiU's Primary controller) at e3 and during most of their pre-WiiU release marketing directs to the point to where people thought it was just a controller.
The commercial was good though.

I don't see a disadvantage to using the wiimotes. Why would it be better if everyone had a gamepad?

I like the Wiimotes. The problem is that Nintendo has been marketing the WiiU as if the Gamepad is the main way to get the intended experience but there is only one gamepad usable at the moment. It's like bringing out the Gamecube with only one controller able to be used. If the primary controller of the console is the gamepad, that controller should have had the ability for multiple people to use it simultaneously.
Good example, Wonderful 101, it's multiplayer but only one player gets to experience the insides of the buildings and turning the combinations as well as gets the ease of just drawing the intended weapon on the touch screen while all the other players have to rely on the right analog and can't get the same experience of entering the buildings and such.
It was not a smart idea to release the console and market it as a multiplayer console if only one of the primary controllers is able to be used.
Oh wow, there's a platform that needs you to BLOW on the gamepad's microphone?
Nice to see they are making everything the gamepad can do a gameplay mechanic/
They are really pushing for those cat suits. They are everywhere!
In Super Mario 3D Land they did the same with Tanooki suits.
Super Mario 3D World has really been on a whirlwing.
It just keeps suprising people at every turn that most recent 10 things video especially
This game is really gonna surprise people, heck, Link Between Worlds turned out to be the first 3DS game to get a 9, and Super Mario 3D World clearly have bigger guns up their sleeves.
The only thing now are the arrogant people who'll degrade it because its not a style they want, but many recent previews tell that it just keeps putting more homages and unique ideas. There's a top down shooter style level that finally utilizes Boomerang Mario(which 3D Land didnt really do, it was just there as a power up) and a level based on Mario Kart.
