Nintendo is also building a new building for Intelligent Systems.

I just hope that it means Monolith is going full steam ahead on X and that they are making sure it comes out sometime in 2014.

X and Mario Kart are what I am interested for. Hoping for a X focused Nintendo direct

Eh, this does not necessarily mean something big is in development. I don't know what Monolith might be doing hiring people since they're still developing "X", but I could see Retro working on a new Star Fox, F-Zero, or Metroid. My bet would be on Star Fox.

Cautiously optimistic as to what this could entail.

Do nintendo directs happen at the end of a month? I feel like they're going to tease something new this month.

Companies hire every once in awhile. Doesn't mean much. Retro will be doing Metroid once DKC: TF goes gold which is in like a few weeks or so. As for Monolith they could be hiring just cause they need a programmer or such to help move things along faster or who can fix an issue. Who knows.

@roboccs: i have a sinking feeling that itll release in japan in 2014 but we wont see it in the west until mid 2015 at the earliest. I hope i am wrong though.

If they are hiring now..yea it probably won't show till 2015...or they will hopefully reveal it in the next Nintendo Direct..whenever that is.

@osan0: Yeah, I worry it'll be 2015 too... I think our best bet it late 2014 but who knows...

Well they never announce anything prematurely, so we can only guess at this point. There's probably something in development that is a Wii U top-shelf title.

They're probably hiring more resources so those teams can be split across two projects, like how Retro was helping out with Mario Kart 7 while still working on DKC Tropical Freeze. Hopefully that means they can pump out content faster...considering the Wii U has basically been abandoned by third parties, Nintendo needs to cover their bases.

I will not get excited about this. They are probably just looking for new talent. They are both great devs but until I see some products, I don't want to hype myself up about this at all.
