Smash Bros Brawl - How did you choose your "main"?

Hey! Well we haven't had a smash bros topic in a while so here we go:

What made you decide which character you were going to main in Smash Bros.

I was planning on maining Olimar, but I wasn't patient enough to deal with the different types of Pikmin. So I was trying out different characters then I saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxFkTdCbRTg&feature=channel_page

And that made me realize that I could totally pwn with diddy kong, who I already liked in the first place since I am quite a big "fannie" of the Donkey Kong Country 2, which features the character.

I didn't have room for an OTHER option in my pole, so if you don't like what I put then makes sure you include it in your post.

Experiementing, I didn't care about tiers when I chose my mains. I just chose the characters that felt right with me which in my case were Diddy Kong and Yoshi.

Pikmin is the best Nintendo series of all time. Therefore I play as Captain Olimar. The value of Smash increases two-fold when you pwn your friends with your favourite character rather than the one that might garuntee your victory. It's pretty much the whole point of Smash Bros. Otherwise you aren't playing it right.

I went to the SSB64 Character lot and examined all the characters from top to bottom for any dings and dents. Then I asked the Character Dealer what kind of deal I could get for a certain character and I went with the lowest APR. Just so happen that Jigglypuff had the lowest APR so I went with that one. I was happy to drive off the lot with my slightly used Jigglypuff. She get's great mileage too, almost like she can fly.

No but seriously, I did the last choice and found out that Jigglypuff had the most flaws out of anybody on the 1st Smash Bros then I found out Jigglypuff's secret move and decided that I had to master her. I usually play with the character that nobody deems worthy to play with, Master them and completely dominate the opposition with them.

None of your poll options fit for me. I played as Ness in the original, and decided to play with him again for Brawl.

i go for speed so i alwasy pic pikachu or sonic im a lil pissed that they left out doctor mario :evil:

I don't have a main--I just use random and use what I get. I find it more fun that way.

He's from my favorite game.

I main Ness.

I use marth because he was my main in Melee. And even if I hadn't been using him for years I would have chosen him because of this. Pure awesome.

I chose Ike because after beating Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn 4 times, Ike grew to be one of my favorite video game characters of all time.

Well for me its snake or Sonic... They were made too good in my opinnion since no one can beat me with them lol... Same goes for Marth and Ike... But I usually pick random to make it harder for myself.

My main has always been Link, but then in Brawl I found Wind Waker Link, and crushed souls with him. Then I found Zelda, and crushed more souls with her. After her was Ike, I think... then, Ganondorf. I lost track. Theres a GameCube hooked up in my cafeteria, so we've been playing Melee. I play as mostly Link, then discovered Samus, so its a long story.

Well i was at my friends house one day and we were playing SSBM and i realised that i didn't have a main. So i just thought "Oh Kirby looks pretty cool" so i just went with him and ive been pwning my friends ever since :).

The way I chose my main was pretty simple since I only play as my favorite character, which would be link. Ive played as him since ssb64 and ill continue to play as him. Hes my favorite video game character so even if he wasn't very good Id still play as him. Snake is my secondary and my second favorite video game character so playing as him was an easy choice. I don't think i would ever base which character i want to play as on a tier list, it just seems pointless since it wouldn't be my favorite character and then whats the point of smash bros, i mean it is a fan service so why not play as your favorite character, but that's just my opinion and many people will probably see it a different way.

i have my main as pikachu snce the first smash...kept it in melee, and continue with it to brawl... funny thing is, in 1999 was the pokemon fever...i was like 9 years old...so... it became a habit....lol....these days lately i use zero suit samus.... cause i like the metroid series...but power suit samus is kinda heavy and kirby...because of experimentation...so i could say because they are my favorites and experimentatio...

Ness has been my main since the first Smash Bros, I also love Earthbound and Ness as a character so I picked him.

I just checked the internet and search best players. Then i tried them andI liked marth like in my sig.

In the poll there should be a Was my favorite character in Melee so I use him in Brawl.

Cause that how I got my main.

Toon-Link is from Wind Waker- my favorite game of all time- so the choice was easy. Then when I started playing online I realized that EVERYONE plays with him, so I started using intentionally "lame" characters like Peach and Olimar. That way, not only do I stand out a little, but it's even more embarrasing when you get beat by me!

Okay, this is probably a stupid question, but is there I way you can play as Zero Suit Samus without being regular Samus, or do you just have to get Samus' smash attack?

I choose someone I liked and thought looked cool. Now I play with Zelda, sometimes Samus and Zero Suit Samus.
