Should the next Metroid game be a remake of Metroid 2: Samus Returns?

Click baity title, but should the next Metorid release remaster / tweak Samus Returns and put in on Switch?

I am HUGE Metroid fan, but out of principle I'm not buying a new 3DS just to play Samus Returns. The game should have been on Switch from the get go, and the fact that they haven't done so is a shame.

Possibly. But with Metroid Prime 4 being developed as of now, I don’t think Samus Returns will be on the Switch in the foreseeable future.

I'm actually happy they made Dread instead of porting Samus Returns. Maybe if they made it a $20 digital title, or part of a collection with Zero Mission and Fusion. But now that Dread is out, I don't see myself ever playing SR.

I rather have a remaster of the Prime Trilogy to get people ready for Prime 4.

Nah. Wanted a Switch version when they released it for the 3DS, since then I had already stopped using the 3DS. But after Dread, I don't want it anymore. Rather have new shit, or touched up ports of the Primes.

Yeah, I would like it because I never really played the Trilogy, so it would be a good jumpstart on Prime. As well, it would make sense since No More Heroes did the same thing before the release of 3 by re-releasing 1 & 2 a year earlier for people to catch up. Plus, it's been awhile since Prime was a thing, so it would be good for both newcomers and a good refresher for those who have played all three.

I wouldn't mind it. I would rather get a remastered version of the 3DS version of Donkey Kong Country Returns though because, that's a pretty good DK game, but the Wii version controls sucks and the 3DS doesn't do the game justice on its little screen.
